I'm just wondering because of that color substitution with the Pearl Gold 3PO (rather than light pearl gold), and curious if it's still happening, and if it will continue to happen in the future. So if you bought a sandcrawler recently (within the last month would be ideal) did it have the darker color substitution for the 3PO? Thanks! Quote

Endigo Vandane Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I bought mine about a month ago at the Legoshop in Oberhausen (Germany) and it had the Dark Pearl Gold version. Even the hands were that color. (When they were first released the hands were Light Pearl Gold) However, which color C3PO is in any given box would depend on when the set was manufactured. I don't think you could tell that from the outside. The box I have has a light C3PO on it, so no clue there. It could happen you buy a Sandcrawler tomorrow and it's from the first production run, not having sold because the stock was being replenished with newer ones. I don't know how likely that is, but it's something to consider. Offcourse if you were to place an order with S@H you should get a new one. Why are you asking? Do you or don't you want a dark one? I definitely want a dark one ;-) I'm just glad they're still making them, that means in all probability they're here to stay, and I don't need to buy another sandcrawler, I can just wait for a nice small set with 3PO X-D Thanks for your help, guys!
