RedShift Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) Hello all I'm keeping myself busy designing a Lego train station, and I'm trying to create a replica of my local train station here. But I've been out of the Lego game for more than a decade, so I'm looking for some tips how I can improve my design. Right now I'm designing the stairwells leading up to the platforms, and I'd like some feedback whether or not this stairwell mimics reality. My goal here was to keep to real life as close as possible, so I'm looking for any ways to improve its realism. One thing I'm not satisfied with is the handlebars for the stairs. Attached is the Lego LDD file. You can see pictures of the train station here: https://endeavour.we...nn/station-bru/ trainstation-platform-hallway.lxf Edited June 3, 2016 by RedShift Quote
paupadros Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Instead of using combination of brick and tile on the 1st part, try putting wall pieces https://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?q=15207&itemType=P&catID=&colorID= Quote
RedShift Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Something like this? That looks a bit weird with the rounded edges on the wall piece Quote
Brickextreme Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Maybe try 9.6 mm plastic hose in flat silver for the hand rails. Reasonable price on brickowl or bricklink. Quote
TheBear Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 You could use 3mm rigid hose for the handlebars and maybe swap out the slopes at the sides of the stairs for tiles placed at an angle for a smoother slope. I would have started with the lift doors, since getting those to fit and look right will be tricky Quote
