SkaForHire Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 HMS Gauntlet HMS GAUNTLET by skaforhire, on Flickr After a devastating April trade run, the Royal navy has decided to post another warship to the Far Waters. The HMS Gauntlet will temporarily take the place of the HMS Bullshark until the Crown can forge Carno to relinquish her. DSC_3007 by skaforhire, on Flickr The HMS Guantlet was taken from the Oleon Navy during the Juniper War, and had mostly served as a consul ship on the northern coast of Corrington since. She is fast, agile, and well-armed. She is currently fitted out as a 5HA class warship, but if she drops some of her iron, she can make the speed of a class 5A. Ayrlego Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 A fine (if somewhat blue) and well needed addition to the Royal Fleet! Quote
Bregir Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Her Oleander origins cannot be questioned with that colourscheme! I like the use of smaller, custom guns, as I feel they are much more fitting for the vessels of these sizes than the Lego cannons. The slightly raised quarter deck and the discret cabin are my favourite part of the vessel, and I like the inclusion of a large crew. Perhaps experimenting with some tumblehome would be a good idea, as her current sides are rather flat? For future vessel, I would suggest reviewing the rigging - a ship-rigged sloop like this one would have three square sails on the fore- and mainmast, and one or two on the mizzen, above a spanker sail. The very large square sails currently on the fore and mizzen would be very hard to handle in rough weather, and the lack of a spanker sail would make her hard to steer. Overall, nice addition to the Royal Fleet! Corrington will surely rule the waves! Quote
TitusV Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Good to see the Corringtonlanders now have a bit of Blue in their fleet, for if they want to trick their... Ehm... Friends Nice ship! Quote
