Andrzej777 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 http://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-lavender-plant-stalk-3741 Stalks are available in a new color: Lavender While I like the idea of lego releasing new foliage, new colors I am not quite sure about this color. What do you think about getting stalks in lavender? How could these be implemented in landscaping? Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 As a general rule, I'm always for getting a part in a new color. There'll always be someone with a use for it. Quote
Lyichir Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I could definitely see ways to make use of those in Elves MOCs, since the theme has a lot of lavender and lilac foliage. Quote
Andrzej777 Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 I ordered a couple from bricks and pieces - I thought the more foliage the better and maybe I will get to use it in a meaningful way... Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I think they'd fit well in Fantasy styled medieval MOCs. DC uses colors like lavender quite effectively: Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Interesting that you are bringing this up now considering they came in a set that came out 5 months ago. Although, I think there could be a good use for them in the right setting. I'm actually more excited about the olive green version for my builds. But lavender certainly might work depending on the feel of the MOC. Quote
Pedilego Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 It could be used for underwater landscaping... Quote

It just got me wondering wether they might be a good purchase - I was quite insecure, in the end I gave in and bought some, maybe I needed a little bit of assurance, I dont know. Oh, and yes, olive green is definitely a no-brainer. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 No worries. I'm sure there are plenty of people that didn't know about these and I'm sure there are plenty of pieces I am unaware of that have been in existence for many years. I'd say it's always a good idea to buy a little bit of some pieces if you are curious to see what you can come up with. Remember, purples and pinks (and other pastels) aren't necessarily girl colors. No reason to be insecure! :) Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 This is exquisite! I adore foliage parts in different colours! I hope I can get a good quantity of this! Anyone know what set it'll be in? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Captain Nemo Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 This is exquisite! I adore foliage parts in different colours! I hope I can get a good quantity of this! Anyone know what set it'll be in? As TheLegoDr noted, the parts are already out, although so far only in one set: Arendelle Castle Celebration I for one am happy to get plant stalks in any new color, and these lavender ones are particularly nice. They may not be as universally useful as say olive green ones, but they do look great in bunches. I recently picked up 20 or so off Bricklink for a Wonderland creation--they really do add a unique appearance to any build. Quote
BrickCurve Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) The lavender stalks are one of my favourite new parts. Its a pity they are only available in one set. Along with the olive flower stems, the lavender ones are really expensive in Australia. Edited June 1, 2016 by BrickCurve Quote

General Magma Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 LEGO should release packs of plants, such as flower stems, in these kind of colours. Olive green, lavender... I think that could earn them a good sum of money so I don't think they have much reason not to, other than maybe wanting people to buy those sets just for those parts... Quote

Buying those sets for those parts would be a pointless and most of all expensive endeavour. I ordered myself 20 pieces just to see how they look - will probably order more in small amounts (occasionally). Doubt they will ever end up at a brickwall. As a matter of face I am not sure lego is interested in providing specific parts sets. They are aware about bricklink and probably think if somebody needs huge amounts of something he will order there. Quote
