Beck Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Hello everyone! I've been working on a AC3 Traxx in 8w for the last couple of months and am nearing completion, which means I will need to add pantographs soon. I've attempted a few pantographs before, but none with an "A" shaped arm on the top that looked thin enough. I've seen some people use the minifig hand and some tube that looks like the 3mm plastic tubing and the pneumatic tubing, but seems to be neither of the two. I was hoping to use this part on top, but other than that I have no plans. So I really could use some advice for designing pantographs. Any idea is welcome! Here's what the actual train looks like for reference: http://www.railcolor.net/images/basic/bomb_35055_55.jpg Thanks, Beck Quote
ShrikeArghast Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Functional. Others could probably do better. I'll go back and take a look at the 'A' problem. One such item would be 2495 in LDD, but I'm too tired to incorporate it at the moment. Edited May 25, 2016 by ShrikeArghast Quote
JopieK Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Those new parts for the Vulcano sets also might be good candidates for such a constructs. Quote
CrispyBassist Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I use minifig hands/hooks with the 3mm tube for my pans. The stem of the hand will fit, it just needs a bit of pushing. I find that widening the end of the tube a bit helps the hand/hook slip in, and putting a bar in the hand or hook while pushing makes sure it doesn't break or get deformed (I hope that makes sense). As for the ice skate, a tile with clip (part 2555 or similar) would hold it to a bar pretty well, which would then attach to the minifig hands of your "A". Quote
