Theme: Nexo Knights Set: Ultimate Macy 70331 Parts: 94 Figures: 1 Cost: €9.99 Shop@Home (DE) , £6.99 Shop@Home (UK) , $9.99 Shop@Home (US) , BrickLink Another fancy box-art from Lego, highlighting the three Nexo powers! At the back side of the box, we can see the interaction of the real LEGO set with applications/games. Oppsss a happy fire fighter here... Let's hope I bought the right set. The contents of the set: It consists of two medium bags and the instructions booklet. Some pages from inside the booklet. At the left side we can see all the heroes from the Nexo line while at the right side we can see the LEGO Nexo apps. The parts contained in the set: (the majority of them are red and dark bluish gray) Parts that caught my attention: (Axe-piece is really badass-looking,head-tail is amazingly awesome mold and design, shields can be used as inner decorations in a throne room, the new mini slopes called quadruple convex are really useful for decorations and last but not least the chest is very beautiful ) Let's start bricking...! Oww man.. you are broken And here is our heroine..! Macy! Front side The printing of the chest and face are really interesting. I rarely see damaged/tired woman face printing while the chest has a great design with that awesome dragon sign. Back side The face has two-side printing, this side is a bit ugly in my opinion. Not good at all Regarding the chest the printing is pretty simple. Our heroine with her full armor on. (its a pity designers decided to use trans red armor pieces to give it a more techno-nexo-astro style... I dislike it because it limits or completely cancels the use of them in medieval mocs.) Front side Back side You can see how Awesome the head-tail design is. Side view The design of the armor pieces is great but as we already mentioned... this trans-red color is awful. Heyy..here... I almost finished with your weapon... Too sexy to handle Macy.. Lets get on with the instructions... Hey.. is that a chair or something..? Let me put it on you Hmmm? Chinese or something? Macy is ready for war! You can see the big gun that is stuck on her.By rotating it with your hands, it can throw away round plates with great power! A nice feauture of the set! Mace Rain Nexo power Lets continue with the base.. Hey... thats an useful part here... I really like dark blue... The base has a few inserts to handle the different shields and weapons. Hey.. what a badass weapon here... Clever design and nice fire effect! And daram daram....The set is ready! At the middle we have our heroine while at the sides of her there are the needed accessories in order to transform her powers! We also have a chest (with trans-orange lid ) in order to store the spare trans round plates. The base has a triangle-like style. From this angle you can see the huge weapon (compared with the heroine) that Macy can handle with ease Alternative forms of Ultimate Macy Jungle Dragon The seed parts attached to the shield is a clever idea. Phoenix Blaze This form of Macy is the most badass-looking.A great looking axe with a great shield printing The four studs at the back side of the armor gives you many ways to expand the capabilities of the heroine The three NEXO powers included in the set. (by order) Jungle Dragon - Phoenix Blaze - Mace Rain Spare parts Critique: An average set containing a few interesting parts with a medium price. The bad thing is many of them are in trans-red which is a big minus for me. Price/Pieces: 8/10 Medium value for money taking account the trans red pieces. Minifigures: 8/10 The minifigure included is pretty good, its AWESOME plume can be found only in this set and also in the more expensive 70314. Her chest printing is pretty inderesting and I am pretty sure it can be used in medieval characters too. The other armor parts are of no interest to me cause of their trans red color... Design: 7/10 A beautiful design but sadly some useful pieces are in trans-red. I would prefer them to be in dark bluish gray or mettalic. Playability: 9/10 A great set to play with taking into account the great round-plate-shooter! You can spend many hours playing with it Construction: 9/10 A small set with pleasant building procedure. In about 10 mins you will be ready to play with Macy! Total: 8/10 An average set from Nexo line which contains a few interesting parts. Not the best of the line but pretty good! Exetrius Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) I am still doubting if I should get this set, really helpful review! Edited May 19, 2016 by Exetrius Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I already have this in my Amazon Cart, I just need to buy it. Quote
Littleworlds Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Very good review with a lot of shots - fantastic! I also like the helpful guard giving a hand or two assembling it - hilariously fun! As for the transparent armour - yes, it limits things, since it looks more space-trooper really. Maybe it can be used as something like volcanic glass? Skyrim veterans know what I'm talking about Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Yeah, if the armor for the Ultimate Knights wasn't trans, I'd be much more interested Good review, Gunman! Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Yeah, if the armor for the Ultimate Knights wasn't trans, I'd be much more interested That's quite enough of your transphobia! This is a great set, although the pricing is bizarre £7 for one figure?! Quote
HawkLord Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Wow, this one is pretty cool. The trans parts don't bother me that much and that gold mace is great. Plus, the battle-damaged female face printing. Anyone else think the dragon symbol could be rubbed off the torso to create a cool Iron Man figure? Quote

Anyone else think the dragon symbol could be rubbed off the torso to create a cool Iron Man figure? Rubbing the dragon symbol off feels a little like overkill—you could just as easily use an armor piece that just covers it up, like the one from the Silver Centurion. Quote

It's overkill if I'm using a Silver Centurion ($40 minifigure) for a custom... :P Quote
samurai-turtle Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I think their is too much red on this character. I got the "Beast Master's Chariot" and she looks better in that set. The only downside to that figure is the "mantle" has two studs instead of four on the back. What is up with that? Quote
Aanchir Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I actually really love both expressions on this minifigure — the scuff marks and frown on the one side and the smirk and tooth gap on the other do an equally good job showing that Macy is a rough, tough fighter, and the tooth gap is pretty adorable too! I really like the colorful armor of the Nexo Knights, including the transparent parts. The use of the gold and orange lines really makes the armor look like it's buzzing with energy. It kind of gives me a MegaMan Battle Network vibe and makes them look like cyber-knights. But I also think you could conceivably use the transparent armor pieces as fantasy crystal armor, kind of like the diamond armor from Minecraft, or as magical light armor of some sort. So even if you can't use it in more grounded historical MOCs, it doesn't have to be strictly for sci-fi creations. The accessories this set includes to go with the Nexo Powers are quite cool, and I like the display bases/armories that come with all of the "Ultimate" sets. Macy's standard mace design is quite clever too, though I think it looks better when all the points are rotated 45 degrees, and with another stud added between the center brick and the pyramid on top (like in this pic). The spare parts in the Ultimate Nexo Knights sets tend to be quite nice as well! And I like the orange and silver treasure chest to store the spare ammo! Overall, Ultimate Macy and Ultimate Clay were the first two Nexo Knights sets my brother and I bought, and I don't regret it for a minute. They're great character designs and offer some pretty neat pieces for their small size and price. Quote
Japanbuilder Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I wish these came with their hair pieces. That would make these really ultimate. Still I am enjoying this line so far. Is anyone going to get multiples of these to make armies of future space knights? Quote

The only downside to that figure is the "mantle" has two studs instead of four on the back. What is up with that? The Ultimate armour piece has 4 studs to allow for stronger connections between bricks given the size and comparative weight of certain weapons/powers. I wouldn't like to try attaching Macy's gun to the 2 stud version. Quote

If you look at set 70310 the guy comes with the four stud version and he is just a common Knight. Quote

If you look at set 70310 the guy comes with the four stud version and he is just a common Knight. So far it seems like only the two-stud version comes over-molded in two colors, while the four-stud version is always molded in just one color. Quote
kaiju Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 The 2 stud version is probably also better ndfor minifigs that come with vehicle builds; the extra studs extend down further making it harder to use in a seated position. Quote
Japanbuilder Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 The 2 stud version is probably also better ndfor minifigs that come with vehicle builds; the extra studs extend down further making it harder to use in a seated position. I noticed this also with the Knighton Ballista thingy set. The 4 studs on the royal guard forced the position he occupies in the build to be either standing or sitting but notice there is no back-rest either way. After some time of looking at it, it felt rather bare-bones for the operator. Still I like the look of the 4 stud armor piece. As the line grows I hope we get some new parts to make low back rests or a new molded seat piece to accommodate the larger size of a fully geared figure. Quote
