wanbo Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) Took my 8868 apart cleaned all the parts, even did the hydrogen peroxide trick, ordered some new pieces and put it all back together. Only this time, I added two air tanks, two manual pumps and another pump to the motor The air tanks are fitted where the dummy fuel tanks used to be.....and fit very snuggly The manual pumps are fitted where the exhaust stacks used to be....not as easily done as the air tanks and not looking as well, or secured as well, as I'd hope....might make some further alterations in the future The manual pumps feed directly to the air tanks and then to the switches for the mods Was also able to fit a second pump in the cab attached to the motor. These pumps feed directly to the switches and not the air tanks.....was afraid of them pushing to much air into them All in all it works really well......and looks the part too Edited May 15, 2016 by wanbo Quote
DrJB Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Nicely done. You should put photos back-to-back showing the original version and the one you concocted. Quote
Captainowie Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 These pumps feed directly to the switches and not the air tanks.....was afraid of them pushing to much air into them That shouldn't have been a concern - if you haven't put an additional switch in the feed system (so you can choose between manual and automatic pumps), all the pressure upstream of the switches will equalise amongst all the components. That is to say, the motorised pumps are pushing air into the tanks anyway! Owen. Quote
skaah Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I can really recommend upgrading to the grabber from 8443, it is a vast improvement over the stock grabber. Quote
