Ordering from other S@H sites?

Has anyone tried to order from S@H in a different country? How did you make it work? I am in Canada but would like to order from the site in Germany or the UK.

Do I need a freight forwarding service?

LEGO will not ship to a freight forwarding service. They had too much credit card fraud cases with them. If you have friends or relatives in those countries, you can ask them order it and ship to you.

Why did you need to order from the UK or Germany?

They just sometimes get stuff I can't get in Canada. Right now, for instance, the collectible soccer minifigs.

hum, I'd rather believe the main reason is that Lego's prices are pretty different in each country. Neighbor ones, thus even worse accross continents.

Plus their website is set up for shipping within certain regions. Buying products from Europe when in North America is going to screw up their shipping process.

I can understand the fact that they want to be able to price things differently in each market, so they wouldn't ship directly from U.S. S@H to Norway, for example. But if I got a mailbox in Germany, it's weird that they wouldn't ship to that -- there can't be a lot of people who would want to do this (the shipping would eat up any price differences.)

Anyway, for me it isn't so much the price (since S@H in Canada has the best worldwide price most of the time), but the product availability.

Can you make an order from S@H if you are not from a country that has S@H store ? I registered for a VIP card in Germany and put an actual german address, when ordering online i specified that address but a different recipient ( my sister ) however when you put in card details and specify who is paying you enter your actual nationality. Could this be the reason why my order would not process ? Card details were 100% correct.

Yes, this is exactly what TLG suggest doing. And I have proved it to be working multiple times now.

If you don't live in one of the countries we deliver to but you have friends in one of these countries, why not ask them to forward your delivery to you?
