Andy D Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) There was a discusion here some time ago on the subject of how to pronounce Ninjago. Some thought Ninja Go, others thought Nin Jago. Just this AM there was a Legoland CA commercial advertising a new Ninjago attraction and I think I heard the pronounciation Nin Jago, twice. Anyone else see this commerical? Did they say what I thought I heard? Andy D Edited May 11, 2016 by Andy D Quote
Aanchir Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Nin-JAH-go is the official pronunciation for the theme and its setting, but the characters also say "Ninja Go" as a slogan/battle cry, and "Ninja Go" also appears in the lyrics of some of the promotional songs. Dan Castady of The Fold (the band that performs the theme's promotional songs) did a humorous video on the subject this March, shortly before the release of this year's songs. Quote
iammac Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Thanks for the info Aanchir. The other one I remember being confused about was Chima. "Chime-a" or "Chee-ma?" Oh well, some times I mispronounce it purposefully just for spite. Quote
BrickJagger Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I tend to be more of "Ninja-Go" person, but that's just me. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I heard it "nia jago" too from some advertisement. But I think "ninja go" just seems better. Quote

x105Black Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Star Wars Si-Tee Tek-Neeks Cre-Ay-Tour Hmmm... I thought it was Tek Nicks. And Kree Ae Der. Does pronunciation ultimately matter? No. But when I hear someone say it differently from how I say it, I can't help but feel somewhat smugly superior (with a hint of "Have I been saying it wrong this whole time? Nah, couldn't be."). Cassul. Pie Rits. Spayse. Reminds me of this and . Edited May 14, 2016 by x105Black Quote
