This post is a follow-up to the Mean Machine (my very first MOC I posted at all). Here you see the meanest and loudest band ever climbed a Lego stage: Damage Case!

From left to right: Susan (voc/guitar), Chris "The Goat" Ebbage (drums), Skull Jack (bass) and Prof. von Brickheimer (keys)

Both critics and fans compare the sound of the band with a burning freight train rushing with full speed through a warzone, while a hailstorm of Asteroids goes down and a volcano is erupting underneath the tracks.

For more info about the build and the characters, feel free to visit my blog. I also might make some more pictures, where the drum kit is more visible, if there is interest. It was the hardest part of the whole set, and I think I got it quite right

The stage with lights and boxes and the instruments too are quite nice! I'd suggest using some more tiles to smoothen the stage and also for making a colour pattern background. A few more small or coloured spots from different angles for extra detail, maybe?

Thanks for the ideas! Yes, I realized when doing the photos that black on black is a pretty tricky choice for a motive  So I plan to make some modifications to the stage, like adding some 9 V powered lights and making the back of the stage deeper to allow more space for a proper background. Maybe with a prop, like a large engine block or something else embodying raw power.

Tiles are an excellent idea. Maybe I can make use of the Minifig stands I have. That would allow making the stage quite versatile when it comes to placing the band members, but would also contribute to a more smooth look :classic:

Littleworlds: I like how you used technic to hang those lights perfectly! I agree a few colors could liven up this number!

Exetrius: This was the funniest thing I've seen all day!

Good ideas! I also prefer having a few studs to put my minifigs on rather than having a completely smooth surface, btw. Another suggestion: the front of the stage could use some extra texture, imo, to give it that framework look, like you did with the beams.

Cheers!

Here the shots I promised. The drumset is surprisingly simple. Just mounting the tom-toms was a little challenge, but again, the solution eventually wasn't really complex either, despite me having tried a lot of different variants and a lot of parts

I didn't had the time yet to do modifications on the stage, but will happen soon!
