I figured this should go here, rather than the MCW, since it's made with unmodified pieces. But move if need be.

Anyway, the other week was the UK showing of the Heroes Season 1 finale. I really enjoyed the series, so thought I'd commemorate the finale showing somehow. I came up with this. It was actually built on the same day as the finale, and he even watched it with me :-$ ! It's just taken me a while to get round to photographing him.

It's a minifig version of Hiro Nakamura, the Japanese office worker who can mainpulate time and space, allowing for teleportation, time travel, and time stopping.

I'm pretty pleased actually. I feel I managed to capture the look of the character with what I had, in a nice simple way.

Of course, he's carrying the sword of Takezo Kensei, over his shoulder as he does in the series. That's a Lego rubber band, btw.

The EF hair's not as bad as you might think. As the series progressed, his hair did start to get a bit 'bigger.'

Anyway, comments, crticisms and questions welcome.

I think it's a perfect example of Hiro. The serie ended like way again (I think like 8 months or so, dunno), I think it shall start soon.

Nice minifig! I really like it, no stickers or so, a real purist minifig! thumbs up!

Are you going to make more Heroes? =)

Thanks.

In the US yeah, but not over here. Season 1 ended about 2 weeks ago, and Season 2 is due to air next year.

I'd certainly like to. It all depends on whether or not I can find suitable pieces.

I live in Belgium, if you thought I live in US. Are you going to make them all with real LEGO pieces? And which shirt is that, from a Harry Potter set? =)

How would your Hiro fig look with Harry Potter hair?

I was just thinking that. Big hair, but not spiky.

Anyway, this is a pretty accurate design, looks really cool! I too would like to see some other heroes, this is a good idea! :-D *y*

Thanks guys. :-)

nice minifig! sylar would be a bad-megablocks minifig as well.

I did try to do Sylar, but couldn't get anything I was happy with. It was only a quick try though, so I'll have a good look through my parts bins.

Oh, so you do. I meant it as a generalisation, so as to point out that it's only just finished here (on terrestrial TV). I will be making any and all with real pieces, and the torso actually comes from 4851.

I love the series and it had occured to me to do the final scene featuring that modern art sculpture. How would your Hiro fig look with Harry Potter hair?

The Kiby Plaza, named after comics legend Jack Kirby. I can't actually try it with HP hair, as I don't actually own the piece in black. I'm quite happy with the EF hair though. It seems to add a bit of character to the fig.

Sorry Brainbox, I should have commented on this ages ago :-$

I'm a bit of an on/off fan of the series, I see it going to much down the "lost" road for my tastes frankly.

However, Hiro was one of the reasons I still watch the show occasionally while its on, seeing as he's my favourite character, real comic-book stuff.

The head you have chosen could not have been better in my opinion, it suits him perfectly. The use of a lego rubber band is rather sly, and the much needed addition of the katana (Sword of Takezo Kensei, if you wish) adds a lot to the appeal of the fig. Nice torso choice too.

Onto the Hair, I personally believe that this hair would be much more effective than the Harry Potter big hair, seeing as that is more "boofy" while Hiro's is more spiky. Honestly, neither will end up perfect from my view, but this is the better choice (despit the fact you had no choice at all ;-) ). Overall, I couldn't care less about a little extra hair, as it fits him anyway. An excellent fig all-round.

Oh, and about you watching the finale with him, don't worry, you're not alone in that creepy way, I keep watching Batman movies with Batfig, and Starwars with little Darth Vader :-$

Nothing to Say, but Batbrick Away! >:-)

No, it's quite all right. Thanks for your kind words.

I certainly hope not. But to be honest, anything that can bring superheroes into the mainstream is a plus in my book. I've got people talking to me about it that would never be interested in comics.

Just another of those AFOL eccentricities I suppose.

I try not to take my figs out of my LEGO room. If I accidentally leave them in other parts of the house, they tend not to cobble shoes for me while I sleep...

That's funny, cause when I'm gonna watch a movie, I usually build a guy right after of the figs then watch it again later with him. As for Batbrick, that's a sight I'd like to see! X-D

Yes, I think you are right about bringing into the mainstream, it certaintly has brought back a lot of love for superheroes. That said, while it is losing my interest gradually, It seems to be of a far higher quality than "Lost", as it has story arcs which ACTUALLY end, and new ones that begin. That, and characters don't just die all the time unneccasarily.

Fair enough, but I love taking my lego out onto my kitchen table, and making Bane break Batman's back while i eat my cornflakes X-D

Really? Most people think its a little...........off.

'Lost' does rather have the potential to go on... and on... and on... and on...

Maybe that's why it's called 'Lost.' Because it's how the viewer begins to feel.
