Sandy Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 "Ehem... I do not know if you have noticed but your city seems rather empty. Where are all the people? And who would be joining us at this feast?"Hybros looks around to take stock of the room. He tried to determine what was at the top of the staircase. The marquis tilted his head and gazed Hybros as if measuring him up. After an awkward pause, he grinned again. "I would imagine most people would be in their beds at this late hour. But we shall not sleep but celebrate instead! We have a lot of guests coming to the feast, and I am sure they will be gagging to meet you all!"The entrance hall was bare and simplistic, apart from the tapestries hanging on the walls. The staircase divided into two after the first landing and continued to a balcony on both sides of the hall. Quote

JimBee Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 "Interesting choice of words... One more question, Mister Lowcraft. How did you become head of this castle?" Quote

"Hahaha!" the marquis laughed, a little too loudly. "By all means, no! I live here with my family, as well as numerous servants and guards. We all live a very happy life here, as the Lowcraft family has been living for ages." "Interesting choice of words... One more question, Mister Lowcraft. How did you become head of this castle?" "By inheritance, of course. Is that not how nobles everywhere get their titles?" The man gave an exaggerated wink. "Now, will you join our feast or not? If you do, I can give you a room where you can freshen up for the celebrations." Atramor stared hard at the marquis' guards, observing their movements. The guards did not seem to move at all, but just stood there stoically. Their eyes were oddly gleaming from the shadows of their helmets. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 "I suppose..." I turn questioningly to the others. Quote
JimBee Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Hybros shrugged. "It seems the only way forward at this point. We will accept the invitation." Quote
Palathadric Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 "Do you have a lot of visitors in this castle?" Quote
Sandy Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 QM Note: Sorry, I have another busy weekend ahead of me. It's killing me how little time I have for this game anymore nowadays... "Agreed. Show us to our rooms," "Do you have a lot of visitors in this castle?" The marquis clapped his hands together in excitement. "Right this way, gentle folk! We do have many other guests in the castle, you will surely meet them all at the feast later tonight." The lord of the house led the party upstairs to a room that was well-furnished, but oddly dusty. "Make yourselves comfortable. I will send a servant to fetch you once the preparations are complete!"After the door was slammed shut, Byblos looked at the party. "What now? We kept the madman happy, but we haven't seen even a glimpse of demonic activity yet. Something reeks of rotten bananas here..."There was a queen-sized bed, a wardrobe and a dressing table with a chair in the room. All the windows were on one wall, looking to the surrounding hills. Palathadric Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) "Well, I have to say that I'm glad he didn't separate us, so we can put our heads together. Damnation, if he's not a sign of demonic activity himself, I wonder what is. There was certainly something odd about him." I move over to the window and poke my head out, looking up, down, out, and to the sides for anything of note. Edited June 9, 2016 by Palathadric Quote

Either that man is being possessed by a demon, or perhaps he is a demon in disguise. There may be only one way to find out, which is to play along with his game for now, heheh..." Hybros inspects the bed and peeks underneath it. Quote

Sandy Posted June 12, 2016 Author Posted June 12, 2016 I move over to the window and poke my head out, looking up, down, out, and to the sides for anything of note. Monk Pretzel saw that they were high enough that jumping down from the window would be fatal. There was nothing else to be seen except the surrounding hills basking in the eerie light soothing from the rift. "Seems like we've got time to kill," Althior inspects the wardrobe. There was a leather bag full of everyday clothes and utensils in the wardrobe, as well as a dead moth. Hybros inspects the bed and peeks underneath it. There was only a chamber pot beneath the pet - an unemptied one. Seeing the others crawling all over the room Namyrra heads over to inspect the dressing table and chair. The dressing table had an unsent letter on it. Dear Roberta, I have arrived to Castle Goetia safely. The trip was otherwise uneventful, but there was this incident on the road that disturbed me somewhat. My wagon was interceded by an imposing man wearing the most peculiar hat. He also carried a falcon with the fiercest eyes that I have ever seen. At first I thought he was a bandit, but nay - all he wanted was a lift to the castle. He did not talk to me for the rest of our journey, but he did mutter odd things as he dozed off. As if he was talking to someone... He talked something about becoming worthy, and making the world bend its knee. It was so strange. I could not rest with the falcon staring at me, anyway, but gladly the man got off as we arrived to town. Marquis and Lady Lowcraft were most hospitable towards me, and I am about to join them for supper. We should be getting the land agreement done within the week. If so, I will return home in a forthnight with gifts for you and the boys. Until then! Yours forever, Bernardo Quote
JimBee Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Hybros crunches his nose at the chamber pot and peeks over Namyrra's shoulder to read the letter. "Hm, well perhaps our large-hatted suspect is manipulating Marquis, and maybe anyone else in the castle. We know for certain he is here. And it seems that whoever was in this room last left in a hurry. We must be on our guard... and wait for this feast, I suppose." The imp peeks out into the hallway. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 "Perhaps the master wouldn't mind us exploring his castle a bit...what do the rest of you think?" Quote
K-Nut Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Althior shrugs. "It's worth a shot. Let's see what's in the hallway first," Quote
Sandy Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 The imp peeks out into the hallway. Upon trying the door, Hybros realized that they had been locked in. "So much for hospitality", Byblos muttered. "We seem to be officially prisoners now." Quote
JimBee Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 "Indeed... Atramor, I seem to remember you having some impressive lock-picking skills, heheh... If that does not work, maybe Namyrra or Althior could make us a new door. Or we could just sit here and wait..." Hybros inspects the leather bag and its contents for anything of value. Quote

New door works for me, feels like a waste of time comin' in here in the first place. Maybe we drag the marquis to the temple and make 'em let us in?" Quote
Palathadric Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) "Let me try if this works." I use Craftsmanship to dismantle the door lock trying to be careful. Edited June 15, 2016 by Palathadric Quote
