konas2002 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 (edited) It's always hard for me to understand how people could just throw or even give Lego stuff away so easily! Edited December 21, 2007 by konas2002 Quote
MicVash Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Geez, you lucky dog. I'm not as fortunate but still fortunate enough. I have a neighbor my age who basically has the entire family tree of LEGOs in his basement. Thankfully he's willing to do some trading, selling, or even giving away some pieces. And like you, they're "Dark Age" stuff, like Aquasharks, Insectoids, etc. Quote
jedikermit Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 Here are some pics...my boys and I have been sorting for a few hours this morning, and then playing, so nothing's really getting sorted. So the pics are...lame. There are 115 minifigs total, and lots of LEGO. Quote
ExoBuilder Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Boy JediKermit you sure came across a nice find! I am so envious.....or am i? Quote
jedikermit Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 It's a sorting nightmare. I'm still not exactly sure what I have. But I'm not gonna complain. My first project with my new additions: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=13426 Quote
voltio Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I haven't gotten any free LEGO, but I have stumbled across a few great deals at school. One time, I made a (poor) movie for Latin class about the labors of Hercules, all in Lego bricks. One of my classmates mentioned that he had some old Lego Star Wars...long story short, I got a 7163 Republic Gunship, 4483 AT-AT, 4482 AT-TE, 7143 Jedi Starfighter, and Tusken Raider Encounter for $210.00 They were mint, as though he had put them together once, then popped them back in their boxes for posterity. He probably would have sold them for less had his parents not intervened. Last week, I overheard someone else mention that he would give away his 7181 TIE Interceptor UCS because his brother had "broken" it. :-P Come on, Lego hardly ever breaks! So I negotiated to buy it for $40. He also sold me his nearly new 10030 UCS Star Destroyer for $90, since he lost the magnets. To make up for that fact, he threw in a small bucket of Lego Star Wars figures, including ep. 2 clones, Vader, and Jedi Jimmy. *y* Quote

LuxorV Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 sell it and buy new castle sets! for the same price you can get about 2-3 times as many MFs. though if you value the BF insignia over the new crown then maybe better to keep them. :-P Nice idea X-D But I think I'll just keep it. It's a present from one of my best friends, and I want to remember it everytime I'll use those figs :'-) LuxorV Quote
