charlesw Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) Hi everyone, I'm yet another "AFOL", from France. I'm more into technic set (and computers) than everything else and I did start very early on. Back in 94, I was at the Paris Motorshow for the first public appearance of the legendary 8880 set...back then I did manage to get hold of the official press kit from one of the Lego representatives...and since 8880 was made exclusive to the 94' Paris Motorshow (before a global release one month later), I asked my dad to buy me this very expansive set right from the Lego stand...which I'm glad he did...and I still own it to this very day...sadly, I can't build it from memory alone anymore... The laters so called "supercars" were of no interest to me since they were nowhere near as complete that 8880 was...The Porsche 42056 will be a day one buy for me...this gearbox really intrigues me. Quite recently (this weekend), I bought 43039 and found it to be a very easy build...I currently buying a second hand one, to improve some of the aspects of the original model (as well as for getting more green panels)...since I managed to get a good 50% off the original price After 42056 (which I might also buy twice), I will try to source all parts for the amazing Koenigsegg One:1 and build it (though this will be a fairly expensive build). Thank you all for your time, and good - morning / afternoon / evening from France Edited May 2, 2016 by charlesw Quote
