Hi all,

Presenting "Cloud High Rise".

As good as the Town House looks, I'm not a fan of its counterpart as a double so I decided to use its parts towards my own creation. It's my modest first attempt at a modular or really any noteworthy MOC since coming out of my dark ages last summer. It's pretty hollow but that kept the Briclink costs to a minimum.

White my focus has shifted to another modular MOC, honest feedback, critiques, and recommendations are welcome. Thanks for looking!

Well, certainly a lot going on here. Nice MOC you have made. I feel like the 4x10 grey plates are missing something though....perhaps dark brown and black 'thatching' tiles?

Looks great though! A+

To piggyback on this, perhaps adding cheese slopes to the grey plates(tan to match te slopes you already have?) might look good. Although they may stick out a bit much as the plates sit now.

I really like the entry/middle section, something a bit different. Also, I like all thats going. Ow on the rooftops.

I ran out of sand blue bricks so I had to depart from the style of the first two floors. So I definitely appreciate the positive feedback on the first two and the constructive feedback on the top one.

I'll take that third floor back to the drawing board, with both of your recommendations in tow, once I catch a "second wind" of inspiration to work on this. Thanks again!

I like everything except the roof. For me it's something that needs immediate replacement. It just doesn't fit the building.

Thanks for the feedback. What about it do you think makes it clash so much, and thoughts on the direction that I should take it in?

Is the building to the left of the Pet Shop your own MOC?

Yep!

Mostly those exposed studs on the plate. The colour is a bit too light too (for my taste), but could be all right if given proper texture. Here the only texture it has comes from studs. Maybe try covering these plates with 1x2 tiles (try different colours to see which fits best) and have each row aligned with 1 stud offset (so you'll need 1x1 tiles every second row as well). You can also try not to place them equally hard on he plate and have bottom side of tiles stand up just a little to make impression of tiled roof.

Just my opinion though. And I always have troubles with roof on my builds...
