Legogal Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) Interesting article in the Wall Street Journal today. Kjeld KK names his only son Thomas KK as his successor retaining CEO from outside the family. It looks like a smart move. It looks hopeful that there will be plenty more LEGO products that attract females with Kjeld having only five granddaughters at this point. Hoorah! http://on.wsj.com/1UklGUP Edited April 29, 2016 by Stash2Sixx Adjusted topic title! Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 The title scared me for a second. I read about this today, very cool! One generation to the next. Quote
Actor Builder Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 The title scared me for a second. Me too! I was prepared for something a little more offensive. Quote
splatman Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I read the title at least twice, thinking I was reading it wrong. Quote
BrickCurve Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Me too! I was prepared for something a little more offensive. Me three! I feared the worst when I saw the title! Quote
Legogal Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 Wow! Did not mean to upset anyone! I thought it was an upbeat article. All family owned firms need succession plans BEFORE anything bad happens; it looks like Kjeld is still relatively young and healthy, so this is good timing for the family. Quote
HawkLord Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Oh, it's a great article, I know I was just turned off by seeing "KKK" in the title. In the US, the KKK is a white supremacist group with a very negative reputation. Seeing KKK and Lego in the same sentence probably had people worried, myself included. That's great that the business is remaining in the family. Hopefully the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and we'll enjoy the same Lego that we know and love. Quote
dr_spock Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I knew Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen has the same initials and Legogal meant him in the context of LEGO. Quote
Legogal Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 I knew Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen has the same initials and Legogal meant him in the context of LEGO. Thanks, Spock! (That is why I didn't use Kjeld's initials in the title. No intent here to associate anything with TLG.) Quote
