Does anyone besides me think avatar doesn't deserve to be in lego, after all there's only two sets. Why Lego!WHY!!! :'-( It's kinda the same with spongebob... but not nearly as bad. After all who doesn't like Krabby Patties? X-D

Well, Avatar was an experiment. I think the ship showed some promise, and the figs were great, but there were only two sets...

But did you really need to open this up? I think there's a topic around here somewhere. :-/

Avatar is hugely popular, and in my opinion probably the best American kids show in the preteen agegroup.

However, LEGO made a very half assed effort with these sets, and the Avatar people blew it by delaying their third season by a whole year, while the Lego sets sat in store shelves. It was bad marketing coordination.

They could have done a lot better. It depends on what Nick has planned for Avatar next year. The first story arc should end this year. What they do after that.... who knows?

I think this was an opportunity lost.

I've watched it once while flipping through channels (I usually only watch Discovery and History channel!)

It was quite a nice concept from what I saw - It really seems like It would've fit lego well, but now that these two sets didnt sell well, it basically sealed the fate of any good possibility.

I also think that Avatar is a fantastic show, which is why I bought the Lego sets! TLC should make more, I for one am particularly disappointed that no more have come out.

Perhaps we could put it to the ambassadors...?

I had not even heard of Avatar before Lego started making sets about it. :-$

I agree. One of the problems with Avatar is that, for what I know, it is totally unknown in Europe |-/

I think I would have taken the Air Temple, if it was avaiable in Europe, and if I knew anything about the story 8-| .

There was a third set prototyped: a fire nation tank.

That being said, Avatar is a wonderful TV show, evidently lavished with care by *everyone* involved with it - except the people in charge of marketing. :(

And really, who didn't dig the Fire Nation ship?

Yeah, Avatar doesn't really lend itself well to playsets. I'm trying, but I can't think of too many that would make decent sets. Going episode-by-episode, I *could* see maybe one or two of these...

Really, I just want official Toph and Iroh figures.

- Aang meets King Bumi

- Fire Temple

- Pirate Ship

- Water Tribe Village

- Earthbending Tournament

- Day of Black Sun Fire Nation Assault

- Western Air Temple

Avatar is an awesome show, full of action and hilarity, and the 2 sets that came out kept to the design of the show. There are plenty of set possibilities, and I am really disappointed TLC didn't continue the line, or release the sets in New Zealand. :-( *sad* Hopefully with the next season of the show, there'll be more sets. Ah, one can dream... *wub*

On dutch nickolodeon they also have Avatar (dutch syncronized) I like the serie and (@ Hollisbrick)I'm 28 :-P X-D .

The firenation ship was also interresting for non avatar likers because it had so many new light grey bricks.

I would like new sets, but Lego has so many themes this day. And than I would like Star wars and Harry Potter more.

Is there any reason why you think Avatar "doesn't deserve" to be in Lego?

I agree with that question as well. I thought they were great sets, although I don't own any :'-(

The minifigs in them looked excellent *sweet*

TLC might have trouble making a set for that, considering it is set on the underside of a cliff! :-P

No no, the minifigs are excellent! ;-)

Avatar was just aired perhaps a half year ago on free tv for the first time in the german speaking area when I´m correct.

But maybe I don´t watch enough tv.... X-D

I really like that show, it´s very well made with interesting characters, a good story full of fantasy. But no sets at all

here around. I really wonder about TLCs license politic recently.... Star Wars, Indy.... how many years did this take, and

today I saw the first Speed Racers set in TRU.... pretty weird. 8-|
