Lego CLASSIC boxes.. Which is the best one to get a starter?

I'm thinking of grabbing one of the available CLASSIC boxes for a beginner. Specifically, my choices are:

10692, 10693, 10694, 10695, 10696, 10698, 10702

Looking at price per brick, 10695 and 10702 look unbeatable.. Is there a catch? Is there any one that I should really go for because of brick types?

I usually recommend 10696 if we're talking about a "first LEGO set," mostly because of the storage container, but also because that one has the most wheels, and beginners can never have enough wheels. If those two things aren't high priorities for you, though, definitely go with 10702. It has the greatest variety of colors and a very good price per piece.

It depends on where you are. 10702 is a great value set here in Australia. If you are lucky, you might still be able to find 10697 at your local Kmart, which has an even better price per part and a great collection of 1500 pieces. But if not 10702 is a good deal too.
