retrotaco Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Hey guys! I bought that minifigure cube from Target with Lightning Lad last year, and it came with some Chima character, who had a navy blue old-style cape, but it was wrinkled as all get out - I put it under some heavy books and forgot about it for months. Well, I found it today, and it still looks like this; Does anyone know of any ways to straighten it out more? With the old style capes no longer being used, I don't want to let any go to waste. I considered ironing it, but was worried that would burn/ruin it. Thanks guys! Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 What I've done is to to dip it water and then iron it on a low/med heat setting. In my experience the capes came out looking almost like new. Quote
retrotaco Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 Thank you, will definitely give that a try! Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think we have an iron here in the apartment lol - think a hair straightener would do the trick? Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I drop em in hot water for a moment, then let them dry flat on a paper towel. Same thing with my sails. Quote
BrickCurve Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I spray them with a small amount of water and then putting them under a heavy book. If that doesn't work, I dip them in water then lightly iron them, basically the ironing method above. Quote
Modelmaker Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) wet it then put it between 2 heavy pieces of card or wood and stick it under your mattress overnight. Old circus style Ironing Technic P.S. if the missus is slightly larger than you, but it on her side of the bed ...ie. high setting Edited April 16, 2016 by Modelmaker Quote

That would probably burn the cape, those things are hot and uncontrollable temp as far as i know, but I don't use them at all Quote
