knotian Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 In LDCad you can set up and move parts to a favorite palette. In LDD you can set up a custom palette from a specific set/file. Is there any way in LDD to create a 'Favorite palette', then to find a part in LDD, use it, and then move/add it to that custom palette. I know I could go and build a file of selected parts and then import it as a custom palette, but I was looking for a way to do it in LDD by itself. Thanx, Ed Quote
Classicsmiley Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I don't know of any way to do this, but it is a feature I'd dearly like to have. Quote
Gnac Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) Click on the "Template" tab in the left sidebar, select one or more parts, then click the button at the bottom to add stuff. A few things to consider though: This creates .LXFML files for the templated parts in the folder C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\LibraryGroups\, or whatever it is on Macs. The templates will be in a subfolder which can be named anything at all (so you can make your own), but they have no effect on the random order that LDD chooses to display them each time the program starts. They also have no effect on whether the template appears in Standard or Extended mode - that depends on the <Brand> node in the LXFML, created by the mode used when adding the template. I'm doing a really bad job at "selling" this feature. Oh well, ask me anything. EDIT: hah, I forgot about the %USERNAME% Windows environment variable. Edited April 13, 2016 by Gnac Quote
