HawkLord Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) So, I'm working on the largest MOC I've ever thought of making and need some opinions. The model itself will be a building that should occupy 95% of the surface area. I'd like it to include two 32x32 baseplates and one 48x48 baseplate as the base of the model. Now, I know it'll have to have a base of material built on the baseplates for the model to stand on. Would it be more stable to connect all the baseplates and create a floor with two layers of plates or to connect all the baseplates and create a floor with bricks? I want this to be relatively easy to pick up and move, so I'm looking for a formula to do that with either plates or bricks. What do think? Edited April 12, 2016 by HawkLord Quote

The baseplates can flex, mores than with bricks, though I think plates look nicer in general. For anything of this size, I recommend building in baseplate size models. Connecting the base plates with friction pins, with bricks around them to raise the height. Then add a layer or two of plates for extra strength. Quote
