MiloNelsiano Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Craftsmen-Master Carpenter Brandon (here in green) Is Oros' best known carpenter, and has pariticipated in the construction of nearly all buildings constructed in Osgard since his apprenticeship. He now has over a dozen men in his employ that can take care of every aspect of constructing all sizes of buildings. Because of his team of skilled workers, he is able to very quickly complete a building project, and is therefore in very high demand throughout Oros, and is occasionally commisioned elsewhere. I had the idea to try a building under construction after seeing a picture of the process. While the build is pretty bare-bones (ran out 1x1s in tan), I'm fairly pleased with the result. Comments and Criticism are more than welcome! Quote
LittleJohn Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Excellent build, MN! While somewhat simple, the house under construction looks fantastic! The spots of olive green grass are a good touch too Quote
halixon Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 That scaffolding... I absolutely love the frame of the house! Do you think that perhaps we will see it finished? Quote
Jacob Nion Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Now this is cool! I like mocs depicting construction very much. Great choice of colour with the tan. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Cool! There are too few MOCs of buildings in progress. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 The use of tan for wood really sells the under construction look Great framing, and I like that you included a stone foundation and chimney Quote
Graham Gidman Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 A really interesting build! I love the frame and scaffolding! Good lookin' 'figs, too... Quote
VK-318 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Such a charming house! The chimney is probably my favorite feature. Quote
BrickCurve Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Great job, its rare to see medieval scenes like this, particularly for wooden frame buildings. Quote
Exetrius Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Neat house, I reckon that the framework in tan and the foundation with chimney were great choices! Apart from that, I think you really made this scene come to life with those figures. Not only do they look realistic individually, but you can really see their teamwork; very nice posing! Quote
de Gothia Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I really like the Idea and the way you made This moc! The tan works great! The chimney that is already built standa out! This moc gives me so many ideas!:) Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 This looks really cool! The house skeleton is great and good job portraying the activity of the work site! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Ah, this is clever (why haven't I thought of this) Quote
Gideon Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Building this kind of "work in progress" MOCs are harder than it looks imho. Well executed and photographed! Quote
Rogue Angel Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 This is an excellent build! I agree with everyone else that the construction concept is a great idea. Your figure placement/positioning really makes this MoC stand out. Quote
mechamike Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Clever and simply beautiful.. and very nice staging of the minifigs. Well done! Quote
don leopold Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) It looks great, the wooden skeleton with the stone chimney !! Nice use of the minifigs parts. Edited April 14, 2016 by don leopold Quote
Elostirion Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Inspiring inspiration for any building-site I might set up in the future. Quote
Full Plate Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I think this turned out really well Looks like a proper construction site and everyone seems to be busy. Now I want to see the finished house hehe. Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Thanks for all the comments, I'm glad you all enjoyed this one. That scaffolding... I absolutely love the frame of the house! Do you think that perhaps we will see it finished? I think this turned out really well Looks like a proper construction site and everyone seems to be busy. Now I want to see the finished house hehe. I actually had originally built a finished house to go next to this one, but decided not to include it because it was pretty...bleh. If I were able to make the framework a little more complex, I probably would have included a finished house, but unfortunately I ran out of tan 1x1 pieces. Quote
Blufiji Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 A great job on a scene not really seen brought to life. Quote
