Brick City Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Hi Everyone. This is my first MOC on Eurobricks: an 8-stud wide flatcar. I build my trains, trucks, and buses in 8 wide, as it more realistically represents the scale ratio between Minifg and the real thing. It also allows for an aisle way with seats on both sides in passenger cars and buses. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The car was built mainly of random bricks that I have in my (small) collection. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr It is made up of a frame mainly of 1x12's with 1x6's adding lateral support. The low-slung center was made of 1x2 inverted slopes, with 1x1 and 1x2 bricks to fill it in. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr Note the missing inverted slope on the left side. I have since fixed that (whew!) Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr The deck is made up of 1x8 tiles in light and dark bley. I did this because A) I couldn't find enough 1x8's and B) It (sorta) looks like the deck is weathered. The studs in the center hold any cargo that needs securing. Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr I neglected to take a photo of how I attached the wheels, but basically, I used a regular 2x2 brick, and attached the train base with the technic peg into the center. It rolls and turns pretty freely, and I haven't had any problems with it (yet). Untitled by brickcity868, on Flickr So there you have it! Suggestions, praise, etc. all welcome! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Nice idea ...the only suggestion is to make this car a little bit longer than now Quote
