Indy565 Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I think the TIE Defender is in Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. Quote

Lt. Veers Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Sweet! Being a Renegade Squadron player, I really want that TIE Defender. Quote
salty tbone Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Looks to be an expensive summer. :'-( Guess I'll wait to actually see the sets before I commit to being happy or disappointed. Quote
snefroe Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 So i notice theres no mention of The Twilight, i guess that the Tie Defender has replaced it or the twilight was never part of the list. so the at-te and the gunships are entirely new builds or remakes? |-/ V-19, magna droid, fighter tank... never heard of it... that's expanded universe? Quote
Scouty Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 so the at-te and the gunships are entirely new builds or remakes? |-/ We'll have to wait for pictures, then! V-19, magna droid, fighter tank... never heard of it... that's expanded universe? The V-19 Torrent featured in the first series of the Clone Wars, the very first episode, even. The magna droid (I believe) featured in Episode III. I'm not sure what the fighter tank is, though. Quote
PocasNuckie Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 RGS and TX Tank are definelty coming this way! The others, i'll wait to see how they are. Way to go Lego! *y* Pocas Quote
Plural Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I'm not sure what the fighter tank is, though. I think this is the tank it means, but i know theres another type which the empire used. It was basically the same tank but with a recolour. I'm really psyched that there making a RGS and and AT-TE and i hope they come with ARC troopers because... well... they just look awesome! :-) Quote
simonjedi Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 (edited) I'm looking forward to theses sets after the general "meh" the earlier stuff is. I'm going to buy the Tie defender, it takes me back to my "tie fighter" years i also vaguely remember reading about someone who has/can get pics of theses, any one have more info/knows what i'm on about? EDIT: Found it Today, when I visit a local LEGO shop (not ToyRus), I notice that from shopowner's buyer guide (for merchandiser only), there are new sets of SW 2008 containing Clone Trooper Ep2. One of them is a re-released(modified) AT-TE which shall be released at the second half of the year.Great news for all EP2 Clone's fans!!! Edited December 22, 2007 by simonjedi Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Wow Thanks for the good news. 7678 Tie Defender, RRP $29.99US= *wub* Quote
Fordo Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 This looks like a great list of sets, it sure is going to be an expensive summer. Finally I'll be able to pick up multiple RGS and AT-TE's, a great battle will be on it's way. Quote
Looking for a display name Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 jesus Christ these prices are WAAAAAAAAAY too steep (sorry for the blasphemy) Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 As Chandler Bing would say - "Could the sets BE any more expensive?!" Bloody 'ell, I think I'll pass on the 2008 SW LEGO... Quote
captaintau Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 AT-TE and RGS - please noooooooo! I suspect they'll be great sets, but I simply don't have the space. I really don't know what I'll do. I'm already wondering where the hell I'm gonna put that AT-AT that I haven't bought get! TIE Defender - great. This one I'm most looking forward to. Quote
OOM-9 Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 WOW Those sets better be big for those prices!! I honestly do not know how they expext to convince me to pay $50 for the Torrent and TX Tank because the ships are smaller (both 2 person). I'm iffy on the Magna Fighter because although I don't know what the ship looks like, I hope they don't do the Magna Droids (GG's bodyguards) an injustice by using the normal droid body or making them like IG-88. I love the idea of a TIE Defender but I wonder if they will include a stand for this awkward ship. I think the AT-TE could beat out the Gunship because at that price (I am sorry if this disturbs you) it could be a UCS Gunship and that means no (or few) clones. I know you'll scream bloody murder but think, doesn't TLC release at least one UCS a year in the $100 - $200 range, and I think (but I hope I am incorrect) that this might be it. I do however think that the AT-TE will be the best set for the price they ask. Despite these misgivings, I will most likely end up with all of these at great pain to my bank account. Quote

mutley777 Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 The Tie Defender eh, that is one great ship *wub* . I wonder if the RGS will be to much different from the first model. I have seen quite a few mocs of this set in my time but none are drasticly different from the first release. The only real change people try to make is to the side and wing gun pods. Quote
TheFrisian Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Anybody know what a Magna Droid Fighter (7673) is supposed to look like? On wookieepedia I could only find a reference to Magna Droids themselves (personal bodyguards of Grievous), but there was no mention of a special fighter. 8-| Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Tks Christian for the sweet news !! Holly Mother Of Earth !! A Tie Defender you say !! That is such a dream comming true 8- Quote
Batbrick Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 X-O X-O X-O A Tie DEFENDER? That was always my favourite ship! *wub* (Yes, I DO know it hasn't appeared in the films, but I AM a SW fan). I can't wait to see it, it kind of annoyed me that the empire didn't put them into mass production because of the high cost, they were so cool. I remember playing a TIE game versing one of these little buggers, they always killed me. I also look forward to seeing the Death Star, hopefully it comes with great figs and scenes :'-) Nothing to Say, but Batbrick in a galaxy far, far Away! >:-) Quote
HJR-Holland Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I have some serious doubts about these prices really... A V19 Torrent is smaller in size than a TIE Defender, yet it looks like the V19 is about twice as expensive; and I find that hard to believe;, especially since having seen pictures of the V19 on brickshelf. This means that either the V19 comes with a LOT of extras, or these prices are wrong, and personally I think the latter is the case. It also does not follow LEGO's price build-up for series of products, which normally have different ranges thus affordable for anyone. I really cannot imagine LEGO releasing THAT many sets at the +50$ range, and again, I have some doubts... Quote
Brickulator Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Sweet! Being a Renegade Squadron player, I really want that TIE Defender. Same here. BATTLEFRONT ON! Quote
