I'm also in the 'No princesses in this line' boat. They have Pixar to pull from, plus Disney movies without Princesses like Lilo and Stitch. There's Mrs. Incredible, the Inside Out character possibilities, Minie, Daisy, just to name a few. Plenty of female characters to go around.

Well, the princesses from the Disney princesses sets aren't necessary. There's still more princess out there that still need to made and this is there chance.

I suppose you have a point, but given there's a theme dedicated to Princesses right now, I believe they're unlikely.

At best, we'll likely just get princesses who haven't had figures made yet.

I want Disney Princesses in this line - the more the merrier.

I have no interest in mini doll versions of Ariel, Belle, Mulan, etc. But, I would be more than happy to collect mini figure versions of those characters.

The rumored Superhero Girls series could ensure a possible chance for the certain supergirls to have both figure versions, but that case happens when they're both regular product lines. As said, since not every minidoll-included theme would have own CMF series (unless we literally have ten series every year), it's not the fundamental solution, obviously.

I think we should focus on some other popular non-Princess franchises instead, like Alice, Peter Pan or Tron. They have no minifigrues and not even minidolls before.

Superhero Girls will be minidolls, not minifigures.

I think we could focus on both princesses and non-princesses. No reason we can't get both.

Hummm... :sceptic: Both franchises of these two have good potential in regular sets, I mean, Dwarves' house would be a great hit and Beast could never be in CMF series.

Just not sure why there are no new franchise introduced in this year's LEGO DP line. Otherwise, if DP is not gonna be cancelled soon, maybe this series would have to avoid any conflict with DP's franchises even if they're not in LEGO right now.

A Snow White Dwarf House set would be in the Disney Princess line and therefore include minidolls, not minifigures.

A Disney CMF will be minifigures, so it's a good place to make minifigure representations of any Disney character, including princesses.

At best, we'll likely just get princesses who haven't had figures made yet.

That would be all of them, as thus far we have only minidolls, not minifigures.

Yes, exactly that.

Isn't it weird that Taobao Leaker Guy hasn't posted any new mould from this series?

A year ago, we had pics of a lot of moulded head from the Simpsons Series 2

I hope he is alright

Is it confirmed they will be traditional minifigures and not dolls, though?

They would never be minidolls. That'd be a good way to lose money

This is the Collectible ************MINIFIGURES ************ theme

So... It's safe to assume these will be minifigures :classic:

I stand by my statement that princess minifigures are obsolete, as the minidolls are more accurate to the source material than minifigures, which is the same reason many here have concluded that molded heads (For characters like Captain hook) are great.

I stand by it. I tried to lean on it, but it fell over and I hurt my ankle. Now just stand by it.

It would be a great way to make money. If they did a series of generic collectable minidolls I reckon it would sell just as well as a regular set of minifigs. If they did Disney minidolls series, it would sell as well as Disney CMFs. Minidolls are popular with kids, especially girls. Just because older mainly purist adult collectors don't like them, it doesn't mean they wouldn't sell.

Don't know why they are not made in this year's regular sets. If that actually means LEGO won't do any more DP franchises or any new princess, then it's the legit chance for Disney Princess.

However, like I said before, Beast could not be in CMF series anyway. And it's even more difficult for us to see all seven SW dwarves in this line. This only works if we asK for the leading princess's only.

A Disney CMF will be minifigures, so it's a good place to make minifigure representations of any Disney character, including princesses.

That would be all of them, as thus far we have only minidolls, not minifigures.

To make it clear, here are the main reasons why not:

1) Disney Princess is just one of the minidoll themes LEGO have now. Since LEGO won't do CMF series for every minidoll theme (CMF Friends, CMF Elves), that means CMF series is not the real solution.

2) Currently there are 14 human characters(minidolls) in the DP regular lineup. Even if CMF Disney has confirmed a second series, it still seems impossible for Disney to make all of them in this series. Not even talk about Snow or Belle.

3) This means competing with other popular Disney franchises, like CloneOPatra said above.

If we need any princess or royalty member for the sake of diversity of this CMF series, like I mentioned earlier, those "unofficial" Disney princess's would be the prior choices to the chosen official DPs in this case. Since they won't be in the regular DP sets, the CMF series would suit them even better.

Haaa, silly. But thanks, it's been a while since I enjoyed this thread. Princess debate = shoot me. It's been pages of circular discussion with nothing of substance at all.

But for the record, I hope they're there. :classic:

Hoping for a bell dress in this series? Don't think the princesses will show up? Consider one of the fairies at the beginning of Sleeping Beauty. It would work, and I don't think there would even need to be a new mold at all.

So true. It doesn't feel like new replies do reflect on the previous discussion. :sceptic: There are tons of Disney franchises for discussion.

I'll cross my finger for new Disney princess or heroines, anyway. :classic:

They can't use Giselle

Because they made her based on Amy Adams. So, if they want to use her, Disney has to pay royalties to Amy Adams for using her likeness.

Obviously, Disney can afford that, but they don't want to do it because that would set a bad precedent for them. Especially considering that some princesses like Ariel were drawn based on a real life person (Ariel was based on Alyssa Milano)

That's why they retired Giselle as a meet and greet character in Disney parks

Not saying more, but the new dress is in S16.

Anyway, digging for non-princess females leads toward more obscure characters, so I think the series would avoid the issue entirely by giving us other types of characters. Right now, the princesses have their own theme, so it's not impossible, but not likely, that they'll be here. Disney has hundreds of films and cartoons to choose from.

Might be, might not be.

I wish I had some sort of info to put this annoying princess debate to rest, but I don't know anyone who does. Sorry.

We should just give it a rest. Eh?

Minidolls may be more accurate, but only in relation to each other. Minifigures are more accurate in a minifigure setting.

I love the joke, though.

A Collectibe Minidolls (CMD) line might in fact sell well. I would not suggest replacing any of the 3 yearly CMF lines with it, though.

However, like I said before, Beast could not be in CMF series anyway. And it's even more difficult for us to see all seven SW dwarves in this line. This only works if we asK for the leading princess's only.

I think Beast could be just fine as a minifigure, but I'm beginning to doubt he will be in this series.

1. A Disney CMF series is a good solution to getting Disney Princesses as minifigures, as we won't be getting them through the Disney Princesses line.

2. I feel that Disney will have multiple series of CMFs, and while I agree that there are many good non-princess characters to choose from, I disagree that this is enough of a reason to exclude princesses from the series, nor do I think they have to either make all of them or none of them.

3. I don't think it will compete, because while there is some crossover between fans of minidolls and minifigures, most are fans of one or the other.

Not saying more, but the new dress is in S16.

You should say more.

I wish I had some sort of info to put this annoying princess debate to rest, but I don't know anyone who does. Sorry.

I wish you did, too, because even though I'm taking part in the discussion, I'm also rather annoyed by it.

We should indeed give it a rest.

That list had some good points, goofy and Daisy not being in the first series is smart. They're not going to release all the fan favorites at the same time. So we should expect two/three princesses or regular female characters, five villains (mix of both male and female), six classic male characters, and two creature characters.

I would take this post into account when thinking about what to expect in this series. I have a feeling there is knowledge behind it. For example, based on the creature comment, I'm expecting Stitch (although I'd prefer Beast or Sulley). I like Stitch enough, and I'll definitely look for one.
