Hi does anyone know is this regarded as light green or bright green. I new to baseplates and need to buy some 16x32 but need them to match the new green.

It says bright green on BL.

I have this 10700, and a few 626 baseplates, and this new one is definitely brighter.

Thanks lazer. What's confusing is 2 bricklink sellers selling bright green both said its not the same as the new 10700 green. Just don't want to order the wrong shade.

Well, these Lego colors can be a little bit complicated/ confusing. It is also possible that the BL seller doesn't know which color type he/ she is selling. Gives the wrong color. It happened to me. Maybe you could ask the seller to send you some photos?

OR

Brickset:

10700 baseplate- RGB color code on the right. LINK

16 x 32 same RGB color coded baseplate. LINK

Now you can use the part's code (4219648) to identify it on BL.

Speaking of the new base plates.... Is anyone disappointed by the new bright color?

Some people definitely are. There's a whole topic for discussing that here. I'm not too particular one way or the other. Bright Green is an underappreciated color IMO, and while it might be too bright for some layouts, it's no less realistic or aesthetically pleasing as a rule than classic green (Dark Green in the LEGO Group's official nomenclature).

This is far from the first set to use Bright Green as a color for grass. It's a common grass color in Friends, Creator, Minecraft, and Classic (formerly Bricks & More/FreeStyle/). Here are several different examples of previous sets with Bright Green grass.

Of course, I still remember in 2012 when the garbage truck and recycling truck from LEGO City and the Green Lantern buildable figure from LEGO Super Heroes used Bright Green extensively, and a lot of people thought it was an entirely new color! In actuality, it's been around since at least 1994, mostly as baseplates and foliage.
