iamded Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) I'm really getting into this post-Apoc thing! :-D Anyway, the Hunters (the humans who fight the Necrobots and protect the civilians) need more than just guns, so that's when their mechs come in! The mech, with 2 Hunters and the Hobo. I should not have turned flash on... :-| Oh well, too bad. The back of the mech. Oh, a sneak peak at the post-Apoc scene! 8- Edited November 21, 2007 by iamded Quote
Asuka Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 This is a great mech iamded, and I for one can easily see it in the post-apoc genre! Of course, there Quote
zero1312 Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 A great creation, Batbrick! *y* I'd love to see more from this world, perhaps a primitive Necrobot mech? ;-) Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 A great creation, Batbrick! Er...isn't iamded the creator? 8-| Very nice! Your style of building reminds me of the '80's space sets. Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 mmmn mmmn lurverly mech you have there! i really like the large cockpit section, mine always end up being so small i can't fit a minifig in so i call it ai controlled... i do agree with asuka though it seems too clean but hey its your mech. steel... iamded Posted November 17, 2007 Author Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks for the positive feedback, Asuka, Batbrick, zero1312, Lt. Col. Thok and steelharbinger! :-D :-D A great creation, Batbrick! *y* I'd love to see more from this world, perhaps a primitive Necrobot mech? ;-) X-O :'-( :-P Heh, yeah, I guess I could try a Necrobot mech, but I kinda had them as being a mass of infantry, whereas the Hunters don't have so much Infantry but more mechs. And they're clean because.. er.. Okay, the military, before the Apocalypse, were working on new high-tech battle-machines. Not tanks, not planes, something new. They had the blueprints, and were assembling it when the Apocalypse hit them like a brick. Fortunately, the blueprints and mech were in a special hangar, made of lead or something, so it was resistant to the explosions and radiation and other harmful stuff. Unfortunately some scared and confused mutants wandered into the hanger, and when the folk inside starting screaming and attacking these mutants, they got angry and killed all the survivors inside the hanger. A bit later on the newly established Hunters came across this hangar, took out the mutants, and began completion of the mech. They turned the hangar into their stronghold, and now it is currently one of their outposts, were survivors can find food and shelter. ~Peace Quote
MicVash Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Nicely built Mech, I think a Hunter mech shouldn't be that shabby lookin, but a bit techy just the way you have it. I imagine that the Hunters are more of an elite smaller group while the Necrobots are far in number. Also if the Hunters are true Warriors, protecting the innocent and destroying evil, they would have some sort of fancy but rare Mech in their arsenal, even in post-apoch. But like I said about rarity, I don't imagine the Hunters having too many Mechs as good lookin as the one you have pictured. Nice job. Thanks for the positive feedback, Asuka, Batbrick, zero1312, Lt. Col. Thok and steelharbinger! :-D :-D X-O :'-( :-P Heh, yeah, I guess I could try a Necrobot mech, but I kinda had them as being a mass of infantry, whereas the Hunters don't have so much Infantry but more mechs. Great backup story! :-P :-) Quote
iamded Posted November 18, 2007 Author Posted November 18, 2007 Thanks! I need to build some mechs that can easily be mass produced, maybe even just some battle-armour. I'll be waiting for a blue robot Exo-pod set to turn into one. X-D ~Peace Quote
iamded Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 The Hunters found their mech could be taken down when the Heavy Infantry of the Necrobots came in. With repeated shots to the legs, the mech became damaged and unbalanced. Partly due to the armour not being good enough, partly due to the lack of articulation to keep the mech balanced, the Hunter's prized possesion came toppling down. The 3 Hunter's and the Hobo fought off the Necrobots, until the Necrobot Lord retreated with a few drones, dropping their prisoner. The survivors were taken back to base, one was even offered a job as a Hunter. After this incident, the mech was dragged back to the hangar. Experiments were done on the damaged armour and captured Necrobot weaponry from the fallen soldiers. A new type of armour was made, much more resistant to the Heavy Infantry's weapons. It was thicker and bulkier, and the legs were given more articulation. Armour was placed around the sides of the joints too, to ward off those tricky shots straight into the weak point. After that, it was decided the joints would be made stronger anyway, just in case they were attacked from behind. The feet were made bigger to support the weight of the new legs, and to crush Necrobots easier! X-D The added ankle joint aided in balance as well as manoeuvrability. Now, for pics and comparisons. The mech, previously referred to as just "the Hunter team's mech" or "the Hunter's mech" was now officially dubbed "Hunter" in honour of the team. Plans were also started for 2 smaller mechs, designed for the 2 Hunters Batbrick and Iamded for support of the Hunter and affective anti-personal exo-suits. Comparison pictures of the front of the legs. Comparison pictures of the outer side of the legs. Comparison pictures of the inner side of the legs. Pictures showing the legs seperated into segments, The final product! Maybe now I should make the weapons bulkier... :-P Comments + criticism welcome! Thanks for looking! ~Peace Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 in my un-important opinion 8-| i think it would look better with hip armour, and yeah i would also bulk those arms up *y* nice mech, i like the legs. steel... Quote
iamded Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks, I'll work on it. I have to think of a method to add to the hips though. ~Peace Quote
