Vader Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 well, a few are new.troll warrior (probably an impulse set?) knight & catapult skeleton chariot It's my guess that the catapult and chariot refers to the sets we had earlier in the year, hopefully i'm wrong and it's new sets. Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 It's my guess that the catapult and chariot refers to the sets we had earlier in the year, hopefully i'm wrong and it's new sets. I kind of doubt that since the names are really similar and if we are talking novelty I would like something different than goblins, trolls & dwarves !! Its fantastic to have them but we have an entire wave of them ;-) *yoda* Quote
jedikermit Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Oh, a Skeleton Chariot -- a real "Roman" style chariot with two wheels -- would be some sweet, SWEET bacon! I'm not sure what changed at LEGO in 06-07, but for the first time in years I'm excited about the Castle and City offerings. I've only been buying the licensed HP, SW and Batman sets for almost a decade now, because the other sets haven't been very appealing...but suddenly I'm buying sets from all over LEGO's catalogue. And my wife is really *vader* about it. *wub* Quote
casewindu Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Those star wars sets sound absolutly amazing yet I dont reckon we would get this many new sets in one year! that would wipe out my bank accounts and my parents! >:-) The batman ones sound very good aswell, the only reason I didnt buy the first line was because many were too expensive and the cheapest weren't very good but these sound great! Maybe a joker ice-cream van! I hope this is the case! The city sound quite good aswell but the life guard theme was done just a few years ago and they weren't very good. Having said this the new rescue helicopter looks very nice so hopefully these will too. I'm not even thinking about the knights sets until the first wave comes out where I live! It's still not here not even intime for christmas! :'-( Thanks Sam for some truely uplifting news! ;-) Quote
Shakar Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Here's what I think (they're some pretty obvious things): -The Good Wizard -The Knight -Tower Raid -Troll Assault Wagon -Troll Battle Wagon One of this should be this set, while the other one should be new. The names are very similar however. Usually Lego doesn't do that. -Dwarves' Mine Defender -Troll Warship -Troll Warrior- a new Impulse set? If so, the Orc army (currently to zero) I have in mind will increase drammatically... -Skeleton Chariot- this could be new. Hopefully it's not Skeleton Prison Carriage -Knight & Catapult- again, could be new. Looks like we don't get a Dwarf Impulse set, luckily Lego's dwarves are pretty easy to make (just give to your vikings a pair of brown short legs, a beard and a proper helmet). Shakar Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hmm. While the Coastguard sets certainly sound intriguing, a little bit of variety wouldn't go amiss in the CITY line. I can see myself buying a couple of those though. So long as there's more modular buildings, I'm happy. X-D Quote
Draykov Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) So long as there's more modular buildings, I'm happy. X-D You building folks are getting spoiled. Cafe Corner, Market Street, a cool new Townhouse in the Creator line and the new anniversary set (10184) and you're complaining about a City theme that's not Police or Firefighters? ;-) Edited November 16, 2007 by Draykov Quote
Athos Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'm hoping the Harley Quinn set is real. Its nice to see that the mini-line may not be dead too. Other than that, nothing sounds like a must have for me. Steve Quote
The Kid Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hurrah! Star Wars! Looking good. Very good. *sweet* TK Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'm glad the Batman line is not dead! The Skeleton chariot sounds interesting, I hope it is not merely Skeleton prison carriage.( Which I have yet to get.) The city theme sounds good, with the new rescue theme but I would much rather normal civilian sets. Quote
Two-Faced Batman Fan Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) All these sets sound great!! Another wallet-absorbing year for Star Wars. And Harley Quinn *wub* 2008 is going to be even better than this year!! Off topic: The Skeleton chariot sounds interesting, I hope it is not merely Skeleton prison carriage.( Which I have yet to get.) Not to rub it in anyone's face or anything, but I just recently won a Skeleton Prison Carriage cuz l just entered in a sweepstakes. It was on a cereal box and you could win a Castle set and it just so happens that he did. :-P I'm pretty sure it's still going on. You can go on postopia for more details. It's on the "Quest for Cocoa Dragon". Edited November 16, 2007 by Two-Faced Batman Fan Quote

I'm complaining that all the CITY sets in the list are one theme: Coastguard. It would be cool if there was a couple of civilian cars (Which are very lacking currently), and a truck or two... I'm loving the January lineup for this reason. It has a nice mix of things between the cargo sets and the post/mail sets. Could have done without the Police, but even they don't look too bad. I agree we're getting plenty of buildings, my comment was just a sidenote stating that I just can't wait for the next one! :-D Edited November 16, 2007 by Mr Hobbles Quote
Username_Taken Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 About the batman sets, they sound great, but what exactly is a "Hammer Truck" is it a real machine/car? Quote
Piranha Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 The republic tank might be similar to the one in Star Wars Battlefront 2 8- Quote

maiq the liar Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) If this is real, There had better be more then just coast guard in the city listing this year... EDIT: Found a youtube video of a old Kinder surprise commercial that killed the shock site's mental image with pure creepiness. Edited November 17, 2007 by maiq the liar Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Wow! Nice find, Piranha *wub* The Batman sets were hugely overpriced here, and I missed out on them, so I'll probably be getting the ones with Mr Freeze and Penguin, as they sound cheap and I love those figs *wub* I think they should release some buildings for Batman rather than vehicles, though. As for Star Wars, I'll be getting a few of those (that is, depending on how much money I have left from buying Indiana Jones and Castle in January and April :-( ). Hopefully the Death Star and AT-TE will be good. Quote
hollisbrick Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 All the information is obtained from the Replacement Parts Page in LEGO Customer Service page. Why no set number are shown with these sets because I just find their 7-digit item numbers. I do not sure if all sets are 2008 sets, but most sets are not yet heard and the item numbers seem to be 2008 sets. Actually, I have found some sets seem to be Castle series. The Good Wizard The Knight Tower Raid Troll Assault Wagon Dwarves' Mine Defender Troll Warship Troll Warrior Troll Battle Wagon Skeleton Chariot Knight & Catapult The first two sets are 5614 and 5615. The others I think may be the one shown before in reatilers catalogue. Thanks for the info whung! and welcome to EB!!!!!!! are those and hopeully new impulse??? 8- Quote
Brickmaster Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Sounds like so many good sets, but so little money to spend on lego *n* New sets are always so exciting to see whats around the corner, sounds very interesting, so we'll just have to see how it goes. Cant wait to see. Quote
baby Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Is nice to have batman sets again. Hehe. It gives us chance to get the villain with a lower price. :-D Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) It is lovely, but when are we gonna get commissioner Jim Gordon? I want a Lego trenchcoat! *wub* (Ideal for Doctor Who 10, I hope... Though I like Gordon enough to buy him with any look.) And how about Nightwing and Poison Ivy in sets that are available EVERYWHERE, not just in the lucky US of A?! Edited November 17, 2007 by Mr Spielbrick Quote

Yeah, hopefully one of these sets will include Commissioner Gordon and a police car, or Batgirl...with four new sets only getting one new character (even if it's the ever-so-awesome Harley Quinn) is kind of a bummer. BUT, this is more than we've heard about Batman in more than a year, so I won't complain. Much. Quote
