RupeeClock Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Ladies and Gentlemen, I found something on Lego.com If you go to Products, then yo select Lego City. In the Lego City meny, you click Products. Now you click on Transport. Then you go to 7994 Harbor .... BOOM !!! A gaint harbor shows up !!!! Well, on this picture you see: 1 Little Speedboat 3 Docks 3 Boats (number 3 is on the background) About 20 Containers 4 Palets 2 Blue Container Trucks 1 Green Container Stacker 1 Orange Garbage Truck 2 Cranes A Road to connect the 3 docks A Red Dock Building on the last dock Thousands of Minifigures and Accessories But you don't get that all !! You only get this in the actual set: Than why is Lego showing THAT many things on that picture !??? - RupeeClock
Derek Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Why that's false advertising! Someone should order the harbor and complain that it doesnt include everything in that pic and threaten to sue if you dont get it! :-D

TT
Axle Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I posted this in a topic before. Got no replies lol X-D But it's a bit sad to the kids who want 2 ships and get one. :'-(
Six Wide Bob Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I though it was pretty obviously NOT an advert for a set personally. I thinks it's great that LEGO show sets together as it fores the imagination!! Bob
Nyundi Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I usually don't mind how they "jazz up" the sets by adding photoshop-style effects and background scenes. I also like how most instructions and advertisements picture multiple sets in a theme together (and even things that wouldn't necessarily be possible from collecting a theme without going overboard: such as the army of skeletons sometimes pictured in 2007 castle adverts). ...but this... this is a little deceiving. :-/
dunamis Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 This is the most blatant case of false advertising since the movie called "The Neverending Story"...
Siegfried Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Personally I think you are being more than a bit silly over one bit of promotional material. Go to shop@home or *shock horror* look at the box and it shows the correct contents. To me that is what matters. Are you next going to watch the Technic Bulldozer video and complain that it doesn't include the designer? *wacko*
Hinckley Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Sinner said: Personally I think you are being more than a bit silly over one bit of promotional material. Are you next going to watch the Technic Bulldozer video and complain that it doesn't include the designer? *wacko* Thanks for being the voice of reason, Sinner. I was indeed about to start such a thread. :-$ And I fully agree that this is a bit of senseless LEGO bashing. Why must we hurt the ones we love? :'-( This picture doesn't appear at US LEGO SAH, so I don't know exactly how it is setup where you're seeing it, but I would imagine there are other pictures that clearly show what comes with the set. IMO, it is over-reactions to product shots like this that has discouraged TLC to offer alternative model shots in instructions and on the box... :-/
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 This pic was in the recent mag. I wasn't surprised. So what if TLC wants to show you what you could make with multiple harbours? Hell, I've been trying to build the contents of the pic! It's inspiration, get it? IN! SPIR!! ATION!!!! And don't you dare turn those marks upside down! ;-)
Derek Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 God, I was kidding about the false advertising bit! :-D
Brick Miner Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 i was actually surprised they used that image on SaH... it does appear in the box art imagery too, which surprised me also. i could see how one could be confused, especially since this is a child's product. im not saying i was fooled, or i think it's intended to trick anyone with false information... im just surprised no one a LEGO could see how that image could be miss-interpreted by the consumer. i do love the multi-set images, and miss them from the 90's calalogs. - BM
VBBN Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Yes well, on the exclusive fall product cataloge(only recieved through a S@H order at that time), te cover is a prototype harbor, with a false crane and extra accesories. Its all in for more buyers. :-/ So I strongly would have expected this. Now, how much would all of the item in that picture really cost?

Since there are other boxes within that picture I think it is clear that other sets are needed. There is one mistake I have found though. You can't see it in the photo, but in the top right panel of the bottom half you can see between the crane legs on the ship a octan barrel when there are already all six on the wharf. By the way, thanks guys; I dragged out my box to confirm the above and I found a piece inside! :-D
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Ohhh. I need a few more garbage trucks and that gas station.

My troops would take over yours. I bought way to many droid and clone battle packs at my TRU. Cheap price though. :-D And Hinckley- Congrats! *y* :-P Does anyone notice how LEGO only does this with city, and no other themes, like exo force or castle(besides the extra figs)???
SWMAN Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Lego always does that to convince you to buy more sets and make the scenes. They do it all the time with star wars. The scenes are usually really cool.
