xwingyoda Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Tks for the article Legomilk ;-) OK so now we know its not a SAH exclusive only since they mention retail stores which is a good news. Also its may 2008 ;-) The last paragraph seems rather interesting Martin Lassen: Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Thanks Legomilk. A Lego VW Beetle, cool!! So we already have news on the second half of 08! I look forward to seeing what else VW related sets are made, this could be promising. I'd like to see a camper van next, or a new beetle. Quote
oo7 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Ahh, so we'll be getting a Lego Volkswagon set in 2008 to go with our LEGO Nazis that will be released in December. :-P Didn't LEGO also have a corporate alliance with Volvo a while back? Quote

Well, we actually already knew about several summer 2008 sets, this is 10187 Volkswagen Beetle, that turned up briefly in LEGO's replacement parts service. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Ahhh yes of course!! I forgot about those! :-D :-| Quote
natelite Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 i would be real impressed when they do one in MF scale. :-D not going to get the ucs model. no display space for one in mini scale. :-P Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Oh man, this sounds cool! *wub* VW Beetles are such great little cars (though I like Mini Coopers better :-P ) Didn't LEGO run a commercial for the Honda Element where a life-sized car assembles itself from bricks? ;-) Quote
jedikermit Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Awesome. My first gf's car was a VW Beetle--lots of fun memories of that car. And come to think of it, back in the 70's, my parents had an orange VW Bus. We named it George. I'm hoping for minifig scaled VWs too...that would really be something! Quote
Corvus Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 What a cute little model. *wub* I wonder if these will be the first in a line... If I could change it, I would've picked the Shelby Cobra. *wub* The edges were one of the things the Volkswagen factory wasn Quote
Batbrick Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Thanks for the news Legomilk! *sweet* Wow, this is cool, I do hope that they release a wave of minifig scale ones, I really want a hippy volkswagon van in my Tabletown! X-D Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote

Starwars4J Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I see a dark blue parts pack *wub* Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Interesting. I can almost see myself purchasing this. ;-) I've always loved the Miniland scale vehicles they have at the parks, would be awesome to actually own one! Quote
iamded Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Great news! Although I won't be getting this (dedicated to Castle I am), it still looks great and I can't wait o see the first review here on EB. X-D Although the windscreen wipers looks a bit small. 8-| ~Peace Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 This is great, i hope we get to see some Audi's too *wub* Thanks for sharing legomilk! Quote

maiq the liar Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 It's nice, but i wish it was minifig-scaled... Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 They're going to make mini-fig scale. It looks good!! Quote
LEGO Maniac JEM Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I'd LOVE it if Lego made a minifigure scale 1982 VW camper just like the one which Tony Banks (the keyboardist from Genesis) owned (not sure if he still owns it). It would have all the cupboards which could be opened and closed, fabric curtains, a fridge, stove, a kettle, cups, plates, the seats could all be moved just like the real vehicle, the roof could be lifted up with the piece of material on it just like the real one and the roof and piece of material could be completely removed for easy access to the inside of the model. *wub* x a million. :'-) Quote

It would be better if they did Richard Hammond's amphiboius VW Camper Narrowboat. That one made me laugh. A lot. Twice. Staying on topic: That blue beetle is a lot nicer than the grey on that was previewed. I'm tempted to get one, pity I need to save up money for a proper car, seing how my current one has fallen to the plague known as rust. Nonetheless, if the Beetle should prove to be a success, I sure hope LEGO would consider doing the Combi, and maybe also the Mk. I Golf GTi as well. Quote
El Bucanero Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 MF sized based on real cars cars. Now that would be cool! As long as it's not going to be 4 wide cars.. If they do it I'd prefer realistic scale. Although I'm not a fan of those UCS models, this is a very pretty model. Now if they had only gotten the license for Aston Martin!!! DB5 on!!! :'-) Quote
Hinckley Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I would love to see mini-fig scale bugs or any VW as long as it was 6 wide with realistic windshields and working doors. This could mean a step up in realism for mini-fig scale LEGO cars!! *wub* VW on!! Quote
Brickmaster Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Being the owner of a 69 Volkswagen Beetle I am so getting the set(s) when they come out *wub* Quote
