I finally got around to making some changes to my Darth Vader's Sith Interceptor. I took a few of the suggestions from the last one and added a few more myself.

Here is a link to the first one if you want to see the difference

http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=122320

To start off I replaced most of the light blueish gray bricks with dark bluish gray. I like the look of the darker bricks better and the color matches the canopy piece more. The second fix was to the canopy itself I made some water slide decals to go over the top of the open circle fleet symbol on the canopy. This is a huge improvement on the first one because it always bothered me having the original symbol on the canopy. Since I was making decals anyways. I went ahead and made new decals for the wing flag pieces, which are more reminiscent of the original Hasbro Sith Interceptor this inspired by. I did take someones suggestion and switch the flag pieces to trans black, but after putting the vent sticker on the lower side you could see the white backing through the trans black. To solve this I just spray painted the under side of the trans black pieces and put the stickers on top of the painted section. The decals on the top section are applied to the normal plastic. I modified the droid socket lowering it by one brick so that the astromech doesnt sit to high now. And lastly I played around with the engines in the back. lengthening the engine section by a 1x4 round brick and changing the exhaust from blue to red. I also added a few more extra pieces to the back to fill out some areas.

This looks great. it's not just a reskin, there are some noteworthy mods here. I like the custom stickers on the wings and cockpit, the grey on black makes it fit. Did you use decals or sticker paper?

These are decals. I ordered some glossy sticker paper so I'm going to try a set of those and see which ones look better. I mostly bought the sticker paper because I plan on doing a custom colored sticker sheet of the 75135 sticker sheet for a Mace Windu Interceptor I'm making.

So I got my glossy sticker paper in today and I had some great success with it. I was planning on making a Mace windu Interceptor as well so I photoshopped a sticker sheet from 75135 and changed the colors from dark red to purple and gold.

Here is the finished product. Its loos really close to the quality of Lego's official stickers and I wet my finger to see if the ink would smudge or run and it didn't, I'm very happy how these turned out, now I just need to redo my vader interceptor stickers.

I always loved this ship but when I finally got the set I found it disappointing. It just seemed too blocky to do the original movie version any justice and the canopy seemed like a cop-out on Lego’s part. (Makes me wonder if anyone has ever done a master’s version with a brick-built cockpit before.) What you’ve done here seems to take advantage of that blocky-ness though. I’m inspired to think that perhaps that sleek, angular body needed to be cut into or built up to accept improved Imperial technology. The whole concept just works really well.

Your decal work is impressive too. Did you have any trouble with color matching?

Just a thought, but it’d be a great touch to change those technic pins on the back from blue to black or gray.

P.S. it appears the the rearward cone on the starboard side gun is on backward. is that intentional?

Not the cone wasn't backwards intentionally. I did fix it though. I had the same thoughts about the technic pins myself and already swapped them out for a light gray pair. As far as color matching I just used photoshop and put a bunch of swatches of different purples down and then choose one that closest. The purple is a little lighter that that dark purple bricks i will be adding to the Windu Interceptor but I did that intentionally. Every time I look at Vaders Interceptor I see something else that I want to fix. I plan on getting a 2x4 inverted bracket to replace the 1x2 bracket that currently sits there. I'm trying really hard to cover up part of the technic holes that you can see when you look at it straight on, and I plan to give the cockpit some decent controls since there's basically nothing in there right now. I do agree with on that Lego dropped the ball with this design but I'm doing my best to fix it in ways that only improve on it. It really makes a difference what an extra 20-30 pieces added to the part count can do to improve it.

Greta job! Finally a *real* Sith Interceptor MOC/MOD. So glad you took the time to swap out stickers/decals. I am planning to pick up a 75135 and make the conversion.

The Mace Windu sticker sheet looks. Great

Would you be interesting in selling a Vader sticker sheet once you've done it?

Here is a working copy so far, still playing around with the colors, for some reason the black ink doesnt like the sticker paper so im going to tone it down a little.

This is cool. I have some suggestions to make also. The fleet emblems on the stickers need to be rotated 90 degrees. This is legos fault. I also don't understand why they added tan details on the stickers for the outer wing foils in 75135. That isn't there on obi wans ship. Would you be able to edit the file in photoshop with these changes? I would just like to see how it looks (:

Wow that is excellent. So much better. I have no idea why it isn't like that in 75135, there's no yellowish stripes whatsoever.

These are great but I prefer the larger Imperial insignias for the s-foils from your original decals (ala the Hasbro interceptor). I envision Vader screaming through the galaxy proudly displaying his new affiliation!
