Which modular set is the most rare?

Local LEGO shop restocked one of each, one of them shall be mine as a birthday for my wife, but which should I get?

Pet Shop

Palace Cinema

Parisian Restaurant

Detective's Office

I'm trying to pick the rarest (but also the most interesting..) Thank you in advance :)

Pet Shop will probably be the rarest, and the most likely to be retired soon.

But (for me personally) the most fun one to build is the Detective Office (followed by Parisian, Pet Shop and Cinema).

Detective Office is a fun build with a lot of nice little details.

I have all of these other than the Cinema as to me it seems rather bland.

The Restaurant I feel is better than the Detective's Office, but the Pet Shop is older and so if you like that one its probably worth getting it.

You get 2 buildings so it gives you more varience in the exterior designs and they can both operate as stand alones with a smaller foot print, so if you wanted you could split them up into different places or different shelves if you're short for space. They loose out in comparison to the Parisian Restaurant due to planer interiors but I feel they work well regardless.

The rarest ones are the ones no longer available. The ones fetching the highest value are, in no particular order, Cafe Corner, Market Street, Green Grocer. After that would be Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium, Town Hall.

None of them are particulary rare but I'd go with Parisian Restaurant. It appears to be very underrated. Also not that widely available as Pet Shop/Cinema or so it seems ( definitely the case in my country)

Rarest is probably the wrong definition. Pet shop has been out the longest so it's safe to assume it's least rare, which doesn't necessarily mean least desirable or expensive in the long run.

That is probably the order that you should buy them?

If you particularly like the colours or build style of one of them and think you might need multiples of it, then you should probably buy your first copy of that one first?

The Pet Shop is likely to be the next one retired and was my second favourite build, so I would get that one.

If not the Pet Shop, then I would get the Parisan Restaurant which was my favourite build.

If you plan to get all of them eventually, then get the oldest now (Pet Shop) before it gets retired. If you're not planning to get all of them, then I'd say get Parisian Restaurant... for me it's the best Lego set ever and it also works very well as a separate display set without other modulars.

As I have three of the four modulars you mentioned I would say the Parisian Restaurant is the most interesting to build, at least in my opinion. And as it was stated above it looks good standing alone. The Pet Shop and Detectives Office are very fun builds, too. I didn't get Palace Cinema, because there isn't a lot going on for the interiour.

Everyone gives out about the cinema Iv just built it and it's an amazing looking set.

If you are planning on collecting the modular sets you should start with the one which will be retired first, Pet Shop. However, if you are collecting them it behooves you to get the previous ones used before they get really expensive.

The best one, in my opinion, in the Parisian Restaurant. It's simply beautiful.

The Pet Shop may be as good, but I can't remember exactly what it was like before I expanded it, so I can't judge that one really.

Thanks for all the replies, and I didn't mean to offend anyone by 'gents' - I suppose english being my secondary language I seem to have started the thread on the wrong foot :( As it seems none of these sets are extraordinarily rare, I suppose I will go for the one that looks best. Being a corner building, I would have thought Palace Cinema would have been the recommendation here. :)

How about the Ferris Wheel? Is it by any means a rare set?

The Ferris Wheel was released last year, so I don't think it's going to retire anytime soon.

I won't consider any of them rare. I have all of the ones you listed (except Cinema) and I also have the Ferris Wheel. I debated on the Cinema for quite some time, but in the end I am just not impressed with it and since there is no hope for me to collect all the modular buildings (I refuse to pay an arm and a leg for Green Grocer, I got back into LEGO too late) there is no point of me buying something that I don't truly love. I also have the Ferris Wheel. It was a fun build and fun to look at if you get the motors also. I like it so much I went ahead and picked up Fairground Mixer to complement it (although I haven't had time to build it yet). My order of preference for the modular buildings you listed are:

Parisian Restaurant

Detective's Office

Pet Shop

Palace Cinema

It really depends on what your wife's interest is.

The Pet Shop is the only one currently available that is not listed in the Spring catalog. I don't know if it was listed in previous catalogs though. So maybe it doesn't mean anything.
