ChocolateEinstein Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) I'm currently making a Rooikat AFV, and I can't find many blueprints or even 3 view drawings of the thing. could anybody help me out? Edited March 15, 2016 by ChocolateEinstein Quote
DrJB Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Just did a google search (with images) and there are many photos available, including one that qualifies as blueprint. All you need is copy paste such photo to powerpoint, scale it up (zoom enlarge) and voila, problem solved. Quote
ChocolateEinstein Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 I've found a couple, like you said, using google image search. I was wondering if there was some resource with the blueprints of many different vehicles. I thought I might be able to see what source (such as The-Blueprints) works best for people. Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) Here's a couple, i'm still looking for a front view. Also what variant, that would help too. I think I could make these photos into a blueprint, that would have minor distortion. http://www.primeportal.net/tanks/steve_barrow/rooikat/ Edited February 22, 2016 by Tommy Styrvoky Quote
ChocolateEinstein Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) it appears I have been researching the 105 variant, which is nearly identical to the standard version. I found a really nice general purpose 3 view which i'll be using in conjunction with the images you guys found. Thanks! Ive also found Sariel's model scaler, which is a really awesome tool. I'll definitely see how well that goes. Edited February 22, 2016 by ChocolateEinstein Quote
DrJB Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Now, from the 3 orthogonal views above, one can easily build a rough 3D model in Sketchup. It'll be much easier to work with 3D for modeling the vehicle with Lego. Quote
oracid Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Now, from the 3 orthogonal views above, one can easily build a rough 3D model in Sketchup. It'll be much easier to work with 3D for modeling the vehicle with Lego. I did some pieces with SketchUp, but I confess I am not very competent. Can you tell us a little more about how to make a 3D structure with these images. Thanks in advance. I hope not to disturb this topic. Quote
ChocolateEinstein Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 nah, dont worry about it! yeah, I have most of the bits in solidworks, and when i'm done, I can upload the file in obj or something if people are interested in that. thanks for all the help guys! Quote
