I'm a new AFOL from the UK. I've placed a couple orders from the Lego.com shop. Can anyone please tell me which courier they use in the UK?

Also what is the packaging like with the Lego.com shop. I'm hoping the boxes arrive in pristine condition.

As for the boxes, small orders come in a wierd thing with flaps that tuck into each other, whereas larger orders come in a huge lidded box with those plastic straps to keep everything together. Expect loads of air pillows and wasted space inside. Everything I've ever ordered has been mint, though.

Thanks. I just got a order despatch with a Yodel tracking number. I've always despited Yodel with a passion but I haven't had any problems with them in last few years.

Interesting that they use such odd packing in the UK. Here in the US they use the most generic cardboard boxes possible.

They need the air bags for when they are chucked over a gate / fence.

Sure we have the air pillows too, I mean interlocking tabs and boxes with lids.

The boxes are actually pretty nifty; the flaps on both the small and large ones have creases which allow them to be made shallow or taller, depending on how much loot to send. The small ones have a notch halfway along one flap, and a slot on the opposite flap to tuck into when it's in "shallow mode". In "tallbox mode", it just ovelaps the opposite flap. The large boxes don't have all this amazin' tech, so the lid is like a sort of lazy bodge.

I assume it's all done to simplify storage and operations, since just these two boxes can adapt to many more different shipment sizes.
