Yeah, definitely. These are real; seem very much like those leaked Nexo Knights sets from earlier this week. Seems like either Lloyd, Kai, or the leader of the villains is on the top of the box. I'm leaning towards Kai or Lloyd, as there is a symbol on the mask (similar to that on Kai, Cole, and Nya from the calendar). Or it could be the villain, and he (or she) turns out to be a "7th" ninja who left the team, turned evil, and adopted the black color scheme (leaving Cole with brown, I guess). Quote

After the colorfulness and stylizing of the last two movies boxes, this seems like downgrade to me. They could've been red! A redeeming point may be if the Ninja in the corner corresponded to the Ninja that the set is centered around. And then, of course, these are just preliminary. Quote

If the color sticks, it seems they are trying to differ between the Lego Ninjago Movie and Lego Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu. Which is kinda odd. I do like the darker boxes though. Quote

That ninja looks more like Cole, than anyone else. And since the villain of the movie is Lord Garmadon he can be crossed of the list of potential boxart characters. Quote

Are the ninja already established in this movie? And Nya is already wearing gray, which is pretty close to black. It could also be some sort of shadow ninja. Maybe they're a legion of some kind? Yeah, maybe the black ninja is just a generic ninja for the preliminary artwork, like the minifig selection on the box, those are just generic design representing the number of minifigures included on the sets, not the actual design for the minifigures. makoy Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 The eyebrows of that black ninja makes be think it's not Nya or Cole because I can't see any eye lashes or bushy eyebrows. It's closer to Jay or Lloyd... but it could anyone if they changed a lot of the familiar character's facial features in the movie. Quote

The movie will be a sort of reboot or reimagining, not a continuation of the current story. With that in mind, it's little surprise they'd run with Ninjago's original villain. I am curious what sort of support he'll have in the movie, though. In the original 2011 story it was the Skulkin/Skeleton Army, but that doesn't mean that will necessarily be the case here. Quote

The Ninjago theme hasn't generally done a lot with more urban settings (at least in sets), but I would be on board to get some sets that evoke these sorts of modern-looking Japanese skylines. Quote

Lloyd looks like a cross between Traditional ninja and Ninjago, also...green eyes? Looks like Garamdon is sporting his original helmet from the pilot episodes. I can get behind that! It looks like the movie sets are in the display case behind the 2 large figures, but I guess they didn't get pictures of them. I hope we get some more pics later, but either they didn't show the sets (and those aren't them in the display), or photos weren't allowed. Quote
