Do you have a picture? Quote

OC_Architect Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Does anyone know why some shields are printed on orange tiles even though the powers are color specific? Just going through and organizing my shields to rescan in to the app and noticed this. Quote

Its something I'm a little sad to see go in the second year to be honest but I think the reason why they did that with the powers in year one sets were so they would fit the overall color scheme better, as well as that's the color the powers always show up as on the show. They look really nice that way especially when you look at the product images just cause of how well it fits and flows with the rest of the knight and the vehicles. But with the year two stuff you can notice that the main power featured with each knight or that they have equipped its in the matching color, which does not hurt the color scheme of things to much. Maybe they did away with using the TRNO shields so they could be much more easily identified as to what color family they belong to. Quote

In some respects I like the colored tiles to match the game powers but to have them all in the orange would have been cool too. The only thing that I don't like about the orange is that a lot of the prints don't seem to show up very well and seem a little washed out or overpowered by the orange underneath. Back on topic - heading out to Lego Store tonight to get the promo polybag. Will probably pick up something simple like one of the Action Suits. I thought about picking up just a Nexo Booster but I have purchased enough of those already and am hoping to get some trades to complete my collection. If they have them may pick up the army building sets. Was on the fence on them for a long time but now want to have the variant prints for both the good guys and bad for the collection. Quote

OC_Architect Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Blister packs. The last time I was there they didn't have them on display and the other nearby Lego Store had them on 'clearance' for 20% but didn't pick them up then. Quote

Yeah, the ones I ordered from Shop-at-Home just came today. They're nice little things, but $15 USD is a bit much for a Battle Pack with no real build in it... Quote
OC_Architect Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 My alternate LEGO store had only one set of the Lava Monster blister pack so I picked that up. Yea,15 is too much I think. Even for the sale price of12 is pushing it a little for me. While there also picked up the Action Lance set. Will probably take it back for a later purchase but I have to seeing these Action sets in person they are growing on me. Picked up the Knighton poly bag as well. Haven't put it together yet but the store had it on display and that thing is small. I was really surprised by how small it is. Quote
BubbaFit45531 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) I too went to the Lego Store to buy a Battle Suit to get the Knighton Rider giveaway, but after a little fella bought the last one that he already said he had, they were sold out. Ordering online was better and they had a wider selection in stock. Did anyone see anyone use the Battle Suit's cockpit in some nice MOC mecha? This is the first set I have that has big balljoints. My Clay Battle Suit did come with an extra sword blade. If I remember correctly, a YouTube reviewer's video had him have an extra too. Edited January 21, 2017 by BubbaFit45531 Quote

Yeah, the "Battle Suits" as they're called here in the states, while not having the pure price per part value of the old Ultimates, are much more playable, massable, and moddable. Honestly, I'm probably liking all of Lance's Sets this year due to them actually being designed around fighting with a LANCE as a weapon for JOUSTING. In the first two seasons of the Cartoon, he basically used his weapon as a giant fencing foil, while the giant lance on the Robo-Horse was more a big laser cannon. This wave, Lance has his Twin "Jouster" (which is at least a vehicle designed around charging forward), a brick-built mini Robo-Horse he can Joust from the back of, and his Battle Suit has roller skates/Land Spinners for charging attacks. Out of all the basic Battle Suit gimmicks, Lance's Heelys and Aaron's giant version of his Hover Shield are probably the most fitting, with Lance's only beating out Aaron's due to my buying them for Brikwars (I treat Spring Shooters as Ordinance Launchers, thus Aaron's suits' weapon would only have a couple of shots before being completely useless). 2 hours ago, OC_Architect said: Picked up the Knighton poly bag as well. Yeah, I just double check the box, but I didn't get one with my Shop-at-Home order (I think the promotion was $35 USD for the Batwing Polybag instead). Still, I did get a Knight's Cycle Polybag at TRU last year, which is a somewhat similar build that's actually even smaller. Honestly rather irksome such awesome polybags aren't more widely avalible, as they are great little builds that are highly massable. 29 minutes ago, BubbaFit45531 said: Did anyone see anyone use the Battle Suit's cockpit in some nice MOC mecha? I was having a look at my collection this morning and noticed that the orange tiles seem to be used for all the Knights' vehicles and hover horses (I have them set up like they show on the box and the instructions.) so it may be that the trans orange tiles are intended to indicate a "primary" power of sorts. Just an hypothesis. Quote

I kind of like the printing for the new battle suits as they are a bit more subdued and simpler, however, seeing your video with them all together I am not a fan of them as a group shot. Also, it appears as though the crest for the battle suits printed on the figures is a bit bigger than the standard crest - is that true or am I seeing things? If bigger do the crests still work with the armor piece? 3 hours ago, josykay said: As promised, here is the little bugger. I know they have appeared in the game on the new levels or what appear to be scurriers but made to look like stone scurriers. It would seem we would have gotten some this go around but since the wave was so small in nature (an individual set size) I am wondering if it was a cost measure to forego them this wave and bring them back for summer. It would be a shame if this was an exclusive figure through the magazine only. Quote

I think it's an improvement over last year's scurriers but kind of unnecessary, as we already have Bricksters. 1 hour ago, OC_Architect said: Those could be fun as well. As far as I know the magazine has never had an exclusive figure, and I don't think it's a stretch to say that we'll probably see a few in The Stone Colossus or Knighton Castle. I also expect General Garg, the Harpies, the turquoise Stone Monsters, and maybe another exclusive monster or two in the summer. Quote
josykay Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Jut to clarify: It wasn't in the magazine. It was just depictured on the poly bag's back. Inside the back was just a Clay minifigure. Sorry for the missunderstanding. I was just wondering, where he comes from, since I never saw the stone scurrier before, and thought it would be pretty cool. Can't wait, to wrap my hands around if they ever will be released. Nexo Knights continued as before. Bizarre sets with great minifigures. I am a huge fan of the Rock monsters especially the dude in the Lancer set and Ruhina. Quote

Here's what I don't get: If it's literally a Toy Fair, where you show upcoming products off to the general public, why can't we even get a description of what's there anymore? Furthermore, Nuremberg is next week, and we will get images of every set. It makes no sense at all. Quote

Also, any amount of time is more time it's spent being confidential, which in terms of contracts are important to keep. It's part of the reason why Star Wars typically won't allow photography at all 3 Toy Fairs for the ump-teenth year running. I guarantee it. It's just that fan sites are only gonna get licensed themes in detail. Every year anything non-licensed, other than Friends, gets completely glanced over by fan sites attending the London event specifically (Bionicle was a nightmare until the US Toy Fair). It's primarily due to the fact that it's a guided tour at the London Event. Typically, theres no time for a good look, lest you get left behind (and in doing so, might miss the guide lifting a lid on confedential product for but a brief moment).
