Vorkosigan Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 When I saw the movie Groundhog Day after I got back into LEGO something occurred to me. What an opportunity to do some building! I'm guessing somewhere in Punxsutawney there was a store with a LEGO section. If not Phil could have driven away from the storm to some place that had some. I mean the process of his enlightenment is great and all but if you're in that situation you could take some days off for LEGO in between finding love and learning snow carving. Improve your MOCing skills... Plus the fact that the movie is set in the early 90s has a nostalgia aspect to it, imagine all the great sets available: Model Team, Dragon Knights, Ice Planet, Pirates, etc. Quote
Forresto Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Well for a completionist that would be a dream come true. One way or another you'd have obtained every set at least once though all the times you went through the cycles. Here's the question though, to have completely bought a wave would you have had to do in a single cycle or would it count if spread out over numerous cycles of days? Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I don't celebrate Groundhog Day. It's against my religion. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I don't know if I'd buy all Lego in a "Groundhog Day looping" scenario. Maybe I'd take time to savor it. But how would I know about upcoming sets? Groundhog day is right before the Toy Fairs so I'd be stuck in an eternal loop of not knowing what us coming out in a few months! Quote
deraven Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 But... but... WHAT IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME IN A CYCLE TO COMPLETE WHAT YOU WANTED TO BUILD!!?? Seriously, building through all of the 90's sets individually would be a ton of fun, but never being able to complete a large free-build and having all of your work erased at the end of every day. That sounds truly awful to me. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 And what if your stuck in the same day with no money Quote
Forresto Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Make it through the cycle so that you make lots of money, break the cycle, spend the money on Lego. Easy :D Quote
