Emmi Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 As you were! The official set does indeed use regular LEGO bricks instead of technic ones as used in the original submission ... Very happy about that, although I'm not sure why TLG didn't use tiles on top to make it look better? Quote
tafkatb Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) I do prefer the regular bricks, but I think the grey and tan kind of clash - I'll probably modify mine with earth blue or sand yellow bricks. Very happy about that, although I'm not sure why TLG didn't use tiles on top to make it look better? I really don't think tiles are necessary. But then, I'm clearly a bit of a traditionalist and prefer studs to be exposed to make it instantly recognizable as LEGO. Edited February 20, 2016 by Tragic Banjo Quote
Emmi Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 So it will be revealed tomorrow then? I hope so! Quote

Lego also may have been looking at the not only playability but also ways for people to easily customize this without having any real tinkering. All the exposed studs are easy spots for kids to place Minifigs, more bricks, ect. Plus as you mentioned, the exposed studs are insantantly recognizable as Lego. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I must say, I do like that it uses grey for the maze walls along with tan for the greater bulk of the play area. I think the grey accents make it look slightly more appealing than it would as a solid block of tan, though that would surely be truer to the overwhelming majority of wooden ones out there. Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the calendar leak cancelled the reveal at LEGO World Copenhagen. Quote
TakeaBrick Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the calendar leak cancelled the reveal at LEGO World Copenhagen. Why said so? Are the two contradictory to each other? Quote
Robert8 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Don't get this It wasn't a "leak" if they revealed on the calendar, right? Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Don't get this It wasn't a "leak" if they revealed on the calendar, right? How was the calendar found? It's not on their site Quote
jjava Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Zero interest and nothing in the April calendar interest me either. So I will be spending my LEGO find at Bricklink. Quote

Tech Artist Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) Thanks! So are these actual marbles or just plain plastic orange balls(like lets say the plastic basketballs with not pattern or texture)? Edited March 2, 2016 by Tech Artist Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 That's a really dumb teaser, I was expecting more Sci!! Quote

Lyichir Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) The orange BIONICLE ball things. Are they? I'm pretty sure they're just unprinted orange basketballs like have been used in Friends. Not only are the dimensions of the "Zamor Sphere" piece much worse for things like that (slightly greater than 2M in diameter, rather than slightly less), but there'd be no reason to do them in orange since that isn't a current color for them, unlike the basketball. CM4Sci Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Looking at the calendar picture I think they actually are the basketballs, so you're right! Quote

bitbamboo Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) I am unsure of the pricing in EU, apart from the estimate US 70$, does anyone have a hint? Edited March 2, 2016 by bitbamboo Quote
JGW3000 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Well, it's exactly as expected. Price corresponds to part count. Overall, a nice set. My kids are already lining up to get one! Quote
