Vader Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 So i have been working away on some new figs so i decided to post a few today and then a few more over the next few days. So here goes, now some may not now these characters as they are more know through the EU. First up is my K'Kruhk, this guy has been in a lot of EU stuff including the clone wars cartoon (though his design in that was different). I have given him a custom cloak that needs work, his head is custom sculpted and took awhile to do but im pretty pleased with the outcome. Comparisson shot from comics: And now i give you a real favorite of mine Tsui Choi, his head is sculpted. It was one of the harder figs i have done due to its angles, i have also given him a custom cloak that still needs a little work. Again this is how he looks in the comics: So that's all for today, but i do hope to add a few more tomorrow including a Saesee Tiin. Comments are welcome. Quote
LuxorV Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Very nice customs *y* Personally, I think Tsui Choi is the best (K'Kruhk's face is a bit too large in MF version) 8-| LuxorV Quote
ExoBuilder Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 That looks like them but they're kinda creepy lookin. Good job though! Quote
Asuka Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Just plain beautiful, a very good work indeed! *y* Quote
casewindu Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 These are very nice *vader* you really are very tallented! your Tsui Choi has a very cheeky grin and looks like he could get up to some mischief :-D cool light saber handle for K'Kruhk also! ;-) Quote
Vader Posted October 30, 2007 Author Posted October 30, 2007 Thanks to all for their kind words, ill be posting more custom jedi here tomorrow for those interested. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Freaky? lol that's a massive understatement X-D SW creatures are in a league of there own. Good point!! Very nice customs, though. Quote
Siegfried Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Vader you are a very talented man. (Cyborg?) K'Kruhk is very cool, although I am confused as to why he has white hair when it looks black in the reference picture. 8-| I love his hand; can that still grip normally? I too prefer Tsui Choi. I think he captures the pictured character better. On the other hand, I think you have done a great job in translating the oddly shaped head of K'Kruhk to mini-fig form, but IMHO he looks too cute now! Great work! *wub* I can't wait for part two! Starwars4J Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 These are absolutely phenomenal! You know how much I love your hair molds, so I won't even go into that :-D Having worked with sculpy and green stuff, I know how hard it is to get the shape you want before it hardens, so the sheer level of detail you've gotten on these two blows me away! The painting is pretty extraordinary too... Both of these are great jobs (even custom hands!), and if this is a sign of things to come, I can't wait to see what else you have in store! Quote
iamded Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 These are very well done! Very good in comparison to the pics you provided, and I love K'Kruhk's head and eyes, great job! *y* *y* Looking forward to seeing more! ~Peace Quote

Vader Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 How long is that? Well with putty it can be some time, however putty is very very soft at first which means the slightest touch can ruin your work. Because of this i tend to use green stuff, but this to has it's draw backs to use. Green stuff is very sticky and can stick to anything very quickly, so when using you have to be super quick and always wet your fingers or tools to avoid getting stuck to it. Ok i thought i would post these this morning, most of these i did awhile ago, but thought i would share anyway. I'm afraid i had camera problems last night so the pics are not the very best |-/ First up is Seasee Tinn, this is a pretty standered fig. Like others out there i have taken a space helmet and cut it to make a skull cap, then i have used green stuff to attach the viking horns to the side of the cap. Maris Brood a new jedi from the upcoming Force Unleashed game, her hair is a removable headpiece. The hair does go around the neck so to get it off you have to pull the head off. Voolvif Monn a jedi from the clone wars cartoon, this was simple to do. I just gave the lego warewolf headpiece a fresh paint job X-D Roron Corobb another clone wars jedi, this is a fig that i have gone back to over and over again. Headpiece is a removable head sculpt. Theen Fida this guy was a padwan to Tsui, his head was pretty hard to shape due to the curves involved. I think this fig is one that i will change over time. A'Sharad Hett another comic character who's pretty big in the EU at this moment in time, i gave him a custom face (which was inspired by one Redbean did) and then slightly moc'ed a regular hairpiece. Quinlan Vos, this guy is a jedi who was used in the EU as a lead character. He's a bit anakin/han which makes him a really favorite. I'm also working on a Plo Koon, i hope to have pics of him soon. Siegfried Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Seasee Tinn Your fig has really captured him. *wub* Maris Brood She is beautiful! Will you be annoyed if Lego end up selling her? Is she a key character? Voolvif Monn Smart! No need to re-invent the wheel! :-D Roron Corobb He is a hard one and you have done a great job. *sweet* You could use him to re-create the cantina scene! Theen Fida Strewth! The Star Wars aliens just get freakier and freakier! :-P Are you planning to do something with the eyes? As it is Transmutate from Beast Wars springs to mind... A'Sharad Hett This one is my favourite so far. *wub* He seems perfect to me, especially that incredible face. Is that paint or a decal? The eyes look just like Lego would do. 8- Quote
Ras 74 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I just say what many all ready done. Great work Vader! You can really see improvement from your early work. Nice once! -Ras- Quote

Asuka Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Once again a very cool work, especially with that hot Maris Brood, your great Theen Fida and that very detailed Quinlan Vos. *y* Quote
jedikermit Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Very nice work, Vader... My favorites are Seasee Tinn, Maris Brood, and Volvif Monn. I've done a lot of LEGO/Sculpey stuff too, and I'm really impressed with the detail you've worked into that scale, while keeping it looking LEGO appropriate. I'm not quite satisfied with Roron Corrobb (Hammerhead Jedi Guy), but it could just be the angle. You have any pics from the side? I really really wish LEGO would come out with an official Ithorian/Hammerhead headpiece. Great stuff! *y* *y* *y* Quote
Vader Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Yes i have some more pics better ones, i'll post them a bit laters for you to see. Quote
mutley777 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 They are all stunning pieces of work *vader* , but the Maris Brood is awesome stuff!! As Ras said your custom work gets better and better! Quote
SWMAN Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 If lego just buckled down and spent some time on some new sculpts, there could be so many cool Jedi figures. Kit Fisto was a step in the right direction, and Lego can take advantage of the new Clone Wars series to make a lot of cool random and major jedi characters. Quote
