Zzz Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Well, good topic here! I am graduating at university right now and it is funny when I think about how much money I had as a teen... I had a lot of new video games and so on... right now I am spending like 50 Quote
Opproperaar Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Wait till you fall in love with a nice girl, I'll bet your priorities will instantly change to: girl > health > food > LEGO :-D Meh, depends probably food > girl > health > lego or food > girl > lego > health and throw in my pets and gaming somewhere in there too at your leisure. :-P A girl would need to be pretty damn fun to be around with in order to beat my passion for food. Any girl would love me, am I not romantic? X-D Quote
andy_0306uk Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Wait till you fall in love with a nice girl, I'll bet your priorities will instantly change to: girl > health > food > LEGO :-D hmmmm, very debatable It has been said on many an occassion that my priorities are : my kids > LEGO > wife > health I always make sure bills are paid for 1st and then prioritize between then above. While I make sure the wife/kids eat and live healthily, I do often begrudge buying food/clothes for myself and go without because it means less Lego. My wife hates the fact I revalue things into number/size of Lego set, saying things like "you've just spent Quote
gylman Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Actually, the way it works with my wife is that if she buys a purse or shoes or whatever, I get to buy the equivalent monetary amount of Lego or knives. This year it has been more knives, but either way... As for the Lego diet, I have definitely done that. Some days I want to skip a meal or two, so if I manage to do it, I reward myself by putting roughly the dollar amount saved into the "future purchase" fund. So, Lego has in fact been good for my health that way. Wait till you fall in love with a nice girl, I'll bet your priorities will instantly change to: girl > health > food > LEGO :-D Well, they will for 6-12 months, but then the natural order of things will reassert itself (LEGO uber alles) Quote
yellost Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 loool. I discovered my priorities order this month. it goes as follows : Lego>food>health>everything else... I bought the new Republis Cruiser at the beginning of october and I only had 35 Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I am going to make a special "Lego saving piggy bank" in which some of the money I earn goes towards! Problem sorted! Meseey gets the Lego, and meseey gets food! Quote
Hinckley Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I originally left this here because the first post specifically referenced WW sets, but we have since moved on, so I'm moving this to the LEGO News & General Discussion Forum. Thanks UB for pointing this out. ;-) Quote
Freddie Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 It occasionally happens that I think what LEGO-sets I've could bought instead of, say, filling the car with petrol so that I can drive to college and get me my education. Then rationale thinking strikes, I imagine what my eductation opens up for (earning a more money and a futere, and what I can do with my current collection. But, it is far more normal for me to rate the money in how much work I will have to do to earn it back. I don't fill up my car with petrol worth 35 Quote

Medievalego Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 This is hilarious. I've thought about how much LEGO I could have bought during college if I'd spent the money on that rather than parties and drinks ... oh man, horrible thought. Lately, I think in terms of impulse buys, like a coke, or snack or something ... that'll add up to a few LEGOs here and there. Quote
highlandcattle Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Wow Andy I can't believe you put your legos before your wife! I like to spread my money quite even over everything, I would probably be very unhappy if I couldn't go to a party every once in a while and get completely wasted. Then again I would probably be also unhappy if I couldn't stare at my BNSF whilst lying in bed. I try to spend a Quote
