I've been a fan of lego for about 10 years now, and I'm especially interested in the train related community.

I've tried building Lego MOCs for a while, and I'm not half bad. Trains being my favorite, though, are somehow my worst.

I have two decent engines, but nothing else.

I'm looking to see if anyone wants to stretch out a helping hand and construct an engine for me that I could purchase.

Before anyone says anything, I have checked BrickLink, eBay, etc.

I've found nothing worthwhile.

I have purchased instructions for Anthony Sava's engines, but parts are hard to find.

The engines, listed from most wanted to least, are following.

1. Chessie T-1 type 4-8-4 #2101 (CSS paint)

2. CN #6060, mountain type bullet-nosed-betty 4-8-2

3. Santa Fe 4-8-4 Northern type #4751

4. SP&S (Spokane, Portland, and Seattle) #700 4-8-4

5. Southern Pacific #4449 GS-4 4-8-4

I really hope that this isn't too greedy.

To anyone reading, thanks!

I think you'd need to give a little more preferences. Width (from LEGO's 6 wide to ultra realistic 10 wide), power system (9V, Power Functions etc) and custom parts (drivers and running gear) are also things you need to decide whether to have it or not. Also, could you show your own models? I think a train builder would like to know how your models look so they can be the same style or size.

Ps. I can't help you in this case, I'm also not really talented with trains.

It's usually not a good idea for your first post to ask people to do stuff for you...

From your post it's not clear what you want. Do you want someone to collect the parts and build one of Tony Sava's engines for you? Or are you looking for a designed from scratch MOC of those engines?

Either way, if anyone is nuts enough to do it for you I hope you've got deep pockets. You're looking at $100+ in parts, even for a small model. Add to that Bricklink shipping costs. Add to that packaging and shipping of the completed model to you.

Add to that labour...

My advice would be:

First show us what you've got; you say you have two train MOCs.

Next show us how far you've got with your next MOC and explain where you're stuck. That way you're far more likely to get some helpful hints and tips.

In the long run you'll probably get more fun out of building your own than from buying someone else's model.

oohhhh!! The Chessie T-1 looks really pretty!! THAT would be a fun build! I'm working on an 8-wide Northern 4-8-4 in LDD that could easily be altered to the Chessie I'm thinking. Some of the others...I couldn't find any photos of those locomotives after a quick Google search.

I agree with THRIZE and Duq though. First, you have to be more specific in what you want, and second, if you are interested in buying a big steam MOC from another builder... well, commissioning a project of that scale takes some financial backing and commitment. Currently I do most of my building in LDD so I don't have to worry about parts but converting an LDD model into bricks is a lot of work I am discovering as I am doing that for my 4-4-0 American. I am open to exploring taking a commission if you want to talk about it. The worst that can happen is that we might discover it is not feasible.
