agrof Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Hello All, after I built the amazing mini Land Cruiser of rm8, I decided to go a step further (I am not a big fan of rubber band solutions), and build another chassis with shock absorbers. I wanted to keep the bodywork only with some minor adjustements, and with a bit of ICON coloring: Said and done, my version is still quite stiff, drop tests survived. Front has independent~, rear has semi-independent suspension, some bodywork details are modded. HERE You can find LXF file, there is a red version too, where I tried to use wallet friendly parts only. The only exception is the black half bush in the top of the windscreen, which I decided to paint rather than pay those crazy prices... And now the Help part of the topic. I would like to surprise one of my best friend for his birthday with this small beauty in the near future, but LDD is not strong in making of instructions. My tiny being lacks of knowledge to use more professional Lego CAD softwares. Is there any kind soul in the community, who is able and willing to help me (and maybe others who are interested to build this), in the honor of eternal glory? Thanks again for rm8 for this amazing little Moc, I hope You all enjoy this Mod too, I definitely did! Best regards: agrof Edited January 26, 2016 by agrof Quote
agrof Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Small bump, part package is arrived. I used pearl light gray Nr 4. connectors (much-much cheaper), they fit acceptable in shade. Suspension works perfect. edit: picture replaced acc. to erelender's suggestion. Edited January 29, 2016 by agrof Quote
zweihander Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 If noone else steps up, I can do it. I want to learn making instructions in MLCad, this can be an exercise for me. I can start next week after I submit my entry to TC9. I'm not sure how long it will take but it should not be longer than a week. One suggestion: shouldn't the B-pillar be black according to the reference image. Quote
agrof Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Hi erelender, that would be great! I played a bit with the colors, while a gray B-pillar maked it less "compressed", I take your suggestion, it is more ICON style. Fender front: part "44 or 32126" is on purpose black - also much cheaper. I wanted to make it affordable for everyone who wants to build this. LDD file is updated - see link in first post. Thank You in advance! Edited January 26, 2016 by agrof Quote
agrof Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) Hi, small update here too: front is rebuilt a bit to make it less swaggy, and winch imitation is added. LXF file is also updated on Bricksafe. Cheers! Edited January 29, 2016 by agrof Quote
zweihander Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I had completed the instructions for around a month now, but work has been hectic and I didn't have the time to share it. Here's the dropbox link to download it, I'll also post it on rebrickable soon. This is my first time creating&publishing full instructions, so the quality might not be top-notch. It could be improved with sub-models, but I'm too busy (read: lazy) to go back and change them. About the model: I really like this little thing. It's been sitting on my desk, built in dark bluish gray, and it's both great to look at and play with. RM8 did a bang-up job modeling this legend at this size. Quote
vliet Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) I have built the FJ40 last week, will built his little brother as well. In red with a White roof. Edited March 6, 2016 by vliet Quote
agrof Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Thank You erelender for creating the instructions! Quote
rm8 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Nice small moc. Mya be some body can do it with regular wheels, without suspension (or with pendular), and with HOG/spare wheel steering. Who can? Quote
