KirTech LAB Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) Hello all! I’ve decided to create this model less than two weeks ago. I was inspired by trans-orange parts from the 70317 Nexo Knights set and my model is stylized as old very cool series of 1993 year – Ice Planet. The model is 73 cm long. The functions: moving (three buggy-motors powered with two S-Bricks), steering (two M-motors, articulated chassis), suspension (15 supporting sprockets) and plasma accelerators. Video demonstration: To say the truth the external design was my main target so let’s take a look at the photos: Thanks for watching! I hope you like it. What do you think – is it really Ice Planet style? PS: Unfortunately I have no Space sets of 1993 year. Edited January 1, 2020 by desert752 Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Nice conceptual build, well done... Quote
braker23 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 This is awesome! I just love how it looks, its speed and the overall concept is cool :) But what intrigues me the most is the steering, it seems sturdy and fast, can you please share how it's made? Quote
metulskie8 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Beautifully built, something I really like. The speed is pretty high ... Your creations are always something special  Quote
KirTech LAB Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 Thanks for comments! But what intrigues me the most is the steering, it seems sturdy and fast, can you please share how it's made? Some fragments with working steering mechanism are speeded up. I use two large actuators directly connected to M-motors. PS: moving scenes are at the actual speed. Quote
JJ2 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Beautiful creation! Every time you post something it blows me away Quote
nychase Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I LOVED ice planet! My favorite were the trans orange ski's but I think I had all the various models they made in that series. Love the model! Quote
dr_spock Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Cool build. I like the sleek look of the tracks close together. Quote
flyboy01 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Where do you get all your parts? I didn't think that anyone could have all those white and blue technic piecses Quote
Beck Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 "Ice Planet Elephant Transporter" But.... where's the elephant? It is surprisingly fast for a large vehicle especially on snow. Your suspension setup seems to be very effective Quote
miguev Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 There may be an elephant in the room, but this is the coolest tracked vehicle I've seen in a long time. And the fastest. Plasma accelerators FTW! Quote
KirTech LAB Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Thanks a lot! Where do you get all your parts? I didn't think that anyone could have all those white and blue technic piecses bricklink and one more internet-shop in Russia Quote
Kelkschiz Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 It's original and has style. I like it :). There is only one thing wrong with it. It's too small! Quote
geezerman402 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 "Ice Planet Elephant Transporter" But.... where's the elephant? Look at the two trans orange lift arms on the front like tusks, and the big panels like ears and a trunk... and tada! Quote
KirTech LAB Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Look at the two trans orange lift arms on the front like tusks, and the big panels like ears and a trunk... and tada! You've discovered it! :) Quote
cefa Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) Very nice :) Would really like to know how you build the tail lights. What did you use as a center piece to get all the small satellite dishes to face bottom out? [EDIT] SOLVED IT! :) Edited May 7, 2016 by cefa Quote
