ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) Sir Nadroj, you are quite the innovator! I can honestly say I have never seen Lego used for social activism before. I really like this *y*, the plane is really cleverly built, and I think it conveys its message effectively. Edited October 23, 2007 by ZeekyBoogeyDoog Quote
goggleson Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 *clap clap* mind if I draw this in the back of my history book? Quote
Asuka Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 A very nice vig, and I like especially your play of perspectives.... *y* Quote
Derek Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 God, is this A Lego forum or a heated political debate?! :-P Anyway, that is just fantastic. That MOC right there is not just a childrens toy That, my friend, is a piece of art with LOADS of substance (even though there arent many bricks) Peace Out (Literally) DP8 Quote

I just need to think of some ideas! ;-) (I take requests: Anyone have an idea of a perspective vig? [after I finish my kill a skellie entry!] :-P ) Quote
iamded Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 This is cool very artistic, but I absolutely adore that mini plane! It's very clever, doesn't use much pieces, and looks awesome! Great job! *y* *y* ~Peace Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Very striking! I like the use of washed out colours and a simple background. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 (edited) It's still a powerful, easily understood MOC which gets the point across. So I apologise and extend my hand as a token of my good wil... OK, enough quoting Star Wars... As a token of a good debate. *sweet* I always wondered if there was another person in the world who was just the same as I was, only on the opposite side. And now an affirmative places it in the answer slot. More MOCs ON! Oh, and maybe a two-level MOC with Saddam underground and the troops gettin' him out would be worthy... :-P Edited October 24, 2007 by trooperdavinfelth Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Hi, again! :-| I'm a building machine! :-D Anyway, my extreme dislike for the Iraq War has caused me to create this vignette. The idea of a giant missile/bomb falling on a soldier came in 8th grade, when I drew something very similar to this vig as the cover to a long report on WWII. This is, in my opinon, very artisitc, as it is not to be taken literally. Actually, the only part that shouldn't be taken literally is the fact the soldier is a skeleton. But he will be, unfortunately. Also, this vig is based on perspective. The correct angle (which I think I forgot to photograph :-$ ) is looking from the soldier up, so the plane apears to be small. Again, don't take this too literally. I have the upmost respect for military members, both alive, and deceased. Anyway, here's the MOC page: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/39644 Very nice vig! I too dislike the war, but respect the military that take out the orders of the crazy governements, wich i dont like *n* Quote
Derek Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 This thread made me realize how much I want a george bush minififg :-D LOL DP8 Quote
Commander Faie Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I don't like the Iraq war at all either and I'm American! I like the vig too it speaks to people. Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 Thanks for the positive feedback, guys! :-) This thread made me realize how much I want a george bush minififg :-D LOLDP8 This is not mine, but I found it on brickshelf for you: Here's the link, so I can give credit where credit is due. ;-) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=277337 Quote
oo7 Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 (edited) Quite frankly, I think that minifigure is not that great of a repersentation and the facial features aren't very accurate to the photograph displayed next to it. I'd say this one is probably better. :-P Edited October 27, 2007 by oo7 Quote

I actually thought the minature plane was supposed to be like a toy making a sort of farce out of war. Sir Nadroj, I hope youll be happy to know i now have nothing but the utmost respect for Dr. Paul and his plans to end this war. Quote
gylman Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Remember peeps, keep the political stuff in the community or other non-Lego threads. Just a heads up, as I see this topic starting to get active again, for the wrong reason. Quote

rupi Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Congratulations. *y* That is a great vignette. It has a strong visual and universal message. But I would prefer to see it better photos. Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Yeah guys, let's keep the comments just to the MOC, okay? I'd hate to lock it :-/ Quote

But that's me I like clean, clear pictures... Quote
zouave Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 (edited) While I don't really get the point of this moc, the things that make it up are cool. The plane design is cool and the bomb looks real. edit: sorry I didn't read far enough to see the other warnings. :-( Edited November 3, 2007 by zouave Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I'd say it's safe. Bush was going in the right direction, he just didn't have major plan for it all. Last warning...no more political commentary on the MOC Quote
