Captain Redbeard Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Howdy, This is my attempt at an outside frame narrow gage K-36 locomotive from the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gage Railroad, in Colorado. This is without a doubt my favorite train, and it was a fun challenge to build. I'm sorry I don't have many pictures at the moment. I'm try and post more later. THERIZE Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 great job with the outside counterweights! creative use with the funnel. Is it tired? Quote
Captain Redbeard Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Yeah, it's just a tire. I thought it made a nice stack. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 So on the one hand that is a fantastic build, on the other hand, how do you expect to show it off if you present it on such a detailed layout? Or to put it another way, the rocky slopes and detailed trackside are a strong contender to the locomotive. You did a top notch job capturing these low slung narrow gauge workhorses. Nice work hiding the PF too. You hit all of the details on the locomotive, and the passenger car is equally well done. I like the snotted bricks for a wood sided effect. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Great work on the yellow cars too and for the caboose ...great convoy! Quote
baard Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I like the whole setup Thanks for sharing! Quote
James Mathis Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Very nice rendition of the train and setting. Quote
Man with a hat Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Very nice locomotive. Good detailing and interesting use of a tire. I only got a bit distracted by that magnificent scenery. Quote
