Klaus-Dieter Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) Hello everybody! Firstly a good new year! And here's my review of the 41118 Heartlake Supermarket: At the first the front of the set's box: The back already shows which different food we get in this set: There are two instructions, three bags, two plates and a sticker sheet: A closer look at the sticker sheet: Here you can see the minidolls (which I never use): The instructions show a building-up-process in three steps: So let's have a look at the shopping cart and its "station": There is even a shopping list added to the shopping cart. And the shopping cart's "station" has a sign: And now the "table" with the newspapers and the flowers: The supermarket itself from the exterior with its big emblem on the top and the double doors in the middle and the display and the bow with the half melon and the pineapple on the left: There's a very detailed interior with display, cashpoint, bakery, fish, vegetables and fruits, meat and milk products sections plus a perfumery section and some sweets at the cashpoint: To my knowledge the following pieces are new: sushi piece, "eye" piece, chocolate (all three printed!) and green flower pot. There's a huge fund of spare parts: Here's an overview of the complete set: And now showing the supermarket in a regular Lego City: For more pics, visit http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=561425 (when folder is public). To come to the end, here's my rating for this set: All in all I give this set a 6 out of 6 and say that it's outstanding. Already now, it's one of my favourite Friends / City sets so far! Con: - would have prefered a (more expensive, but then even) bigger supermarket - regular doors and no sliding doors at the entrance - light purple floor - apart from the chocolates no sweets Pro: + fair price point + nice architectural design + a lot of food stuff + very decent interior with different sections + new, amazing sushi, chocolate and "eye" pieces I hope you liked my review! You surely formed a view on this set, too. So come on and vote for how you rate it. Klaus-Dieter Edited January 6, 2016 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
alenvprekrsku Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Great review. I'd go for it. Thanks. Quote
Fritzy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 sushi piece, "eye" piece, chocolate (all three printed!) and green flower pot That "eye piece" is a cookie/biscuit. Quote
AirborneAFOL Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I'm no stranger to Friends sets as MOD candidates to modularize. This one is a dissappointment, though. The wall(s) are too minimal, even by Friends' norms, the cart/rack seems ill-concieved, and there's not really any cleverly designed internal elements. Regrettably this is one Friends set I'll have to pass on :( Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Yeah Love this set as I had Supermarket on my "What I want from Friends theme". And man I'm not dissapointed! I even like the stickers in this! Also the spares are glorious! <3 Thanks for quick review! Quote
Withacee Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Cheers for putting up the review. I agree with most of the pros and cons you listed, but it did not make me give it full marks. It made me rate it Average. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Thanks 'Klaus' for this review, this is on my buying list for the year since my wife works at a supermarket and of course yourstruly a MOC'er of many supermarkets in the past I totally love the set - simple yet does the job. Note the operating hours are promoted like those in Europe......8am is a bit late for a supermarket to open yet again 10pm is a little late to close ! Brick On Review On 'KD' ! Quote
