FortNerd Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Hello everyone :D I'm a couple weeks away from being 28, female, and Polish. I was never really into Lego, even as a kid, and was doing a pretty good job at being a responsible adult until I encountered Lego Elves. I played various cutesy MMO games in my school days, most notably Ragnarok Online, so the cute/fantasy aestethic immediately seemed familiar. Funny how that happens, isn't it? :D I would've never picked up Friends all by myself, for example, due to the "everyday normal life" flavor of it, plus the aggressive girlification, bakeries, hair salons, all that. Just...nope. But throw in some magic and a fantasy setting and I'm sold. Even if it's covered in pink and glittery, like if a unicorn puked all over the thing. It just happened, and I can't help it. :D So - if anyone else had a similar experience, I'm here for you sisters :D Quote
Iria Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Hi Fortnerd. Yes, I can definitely relate to your experience with disinterest with Friends, and then doing a complete flip for Elves! They definitely remind me of the fantasy rpg video games I played, especially with elemental magic. But throw in some magic and a fantasy setting and I'm sold. Even if it's covered in pink and glittery, like if a unicorn puked all over the thing. It just happened, and I can't help it. :D We're the same age. Was Lisa Frank merchandise popular where you grew up as a kid? The rich colours of the Elves set sort of remind me of it, especially with your unicorn puke description. I think Lego Elves would have been great to grow up playing with. Quote
KlodsBrik Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Welcome to EB. Being a dude i still cant resist sets with elves and all these pink, lime and other not to "ordinary" colours. They are just a bliss to build with. Anyhow, glad to se yet another FOL who has stopped lurking and getting involved with the community ! KlodsBrik Quote
