Stefaneris Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Hello Building a coach was something I wanted to do for a long time, but now after several digital attempts I managed to build one with real bricks. The prototype was a Volvo 9700 from Norway. I chose this bus because I traveled two and a half years ago with such a bus on this route. The line is called Lofotenekspressen, Lofoten is a group of Islands in the North of Norway, Ekspressen means express in Norwegian. I tried to replicate the typical shape of the Volvo with the sloped windows and the curves on the front. There are also openable doors on the bus. L@go Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Very well done! There are several express bus routes in Norway and they all use similar (and mostly white) buses, so for a Norwegian like me this is instantly recognisable even though I don't live in the North. I like it a lot. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the solution for the mirrors - they look a bit too bulky for me, maybe you could come up with a slightly more elegant solution for that. Apart from that it's lovely :) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Wow what a great work! I like the livery on the sides and the luggages space. Quote
Stefaneris Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 Thanks for your comments. I tried a better solution for the mirrors with the LDD, I guess it's something I could work with: Lofotenekspressen with new mirrors by StefanEris, auf Flickr And yes, this bus wasn't the final design so just imagine that the bus gets more narrow to the top Quote
L@go Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 That's a nice improvement! I do think those look better. Quote
