Aethersprite Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 A problem I've had with CCBS cloth pieces so far (I have Furno XL's cape, and Sir Fangar's tattered cape) is that they come out of the box creased, seemingly folded into quarters. With the more prevalent use of cloth pieces in this year's Star Wars sets, I'm curious if anyone has tried ironing cloth pieces they got from Lego to remove the creases? I'd like to try it myself, but I'm afraid that there'll be disastrous side effects, like the cloth burning up for not being suitable for ironing. Quote
CabooseBM Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm sorry I don't have anything useful to say, but I want to give everyone the mental image of a person ironing tiny capes. Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I've never tried it, myself, but if I remember from the textiles class I took in high school, when ironing small/thin pieces of cloth, if you sandwich it between other pieces of cloth, it should prevent the risk of burning. And use low heat just to be extra safe. That's all I can think of. Quote

Well, they're not that tiny. It'll be like ironing handkerchiefs (although who does that anyway)! I've never tried it, myself, but if I remember from the textiles class I took in high school, when ironing small/thin pieces of cloth, if you sandwich it between other pieces of cloth, it should prevent the risk of burning. And use low heat just to be extra safe. That's all I can think of. Yeah, I was thinking of covering it with another cloth while ironing it to prevent burns. Better be safe than sorry. Anyway, Jang mentioned that he irons his CCBS capes (or something along that line) in his Phasma review, so someone's definitely tried it! I'll give it a shot when I can make time. Quote
