Hi

Thought I'd share a few pics of my current Doctor Who project... a Junk Tardis.

Loosely based on the Tardis the 11th Doctor builds from the remains of other crashed Tardises in the episode the Doctor's Wife - (is it just me or does anyone else imagine the A-team music playing as he cobbles together a Tardis from scrap?) I think the actual tardis used in the show was the winning design in a children's competition to design a new tardis console!!

Anyway, I've not come up with a backstory for my version yet - perhaps it was also made by the Doctor after loosing/becoming separated from his own Tardis somehow or maybe it belongs to another Time lord or time traveller a rival to the Doctor perhaps?

The basic structure is done - essentially 3 walls, a floor and a console. Still need to get the correct colour bricks - might replace the red with dark red.

With the roof beams removed, a better look at the console - which will probably be all white (needs some controls adding - already got plans for lots of levers, buttons etc)

Hope to get it finished in the next few weeks. In the meantime, thanks for looking - comments are always welcome!!

Not bad so far.

Using angled plates to make the TARDIS room come together with the angles works well.

Looking forward to se how your console will end up. :classic:

Lovely start! Those panels are a wonder for console-building, though I've found it difficult to fix the angles - are you just going to go with freely positioning them?

I really like the look of the right-hand wall too - very nice roundel work! I actually think the red-on-grey approach looks tremendously striking in this context, funnily enough - don't think I've ever seen a console room design using that colour scheme and it does work well.

Are you planning to include a scanner screen of some kind? The overhead girders bring to mind the 8th Doctor's console room with it's screen-on-a-scissor-lift scanner . . .

Thanks for comments... I've just finished adding some details to the console (I didn't intend to make a 100% accurate model but it is based on reference pics from the relevant episode and images of the action figure playset released by Character Options)

I'm pretty pleased with how it looks at the moment but may tweek it at a later date - the console is a bit bigger/wider than it should be and the panels are freely positioned and a bit fragile (I also think it needs a few hoses etc to make it look more "junky" and I may still replace the red with dark red) but for now it'll do as my Doctor's spare ride (for when the Tardis is out of action!!). It's surprisingly swooshable too and adding a turntable underneath creates an out-of-control-spinning-wildly through-time effect!!

Anyway, thanks for looking - comments are always welcome.

Well, it does look awesome.

Making your own twists on it, im just a sucker for. A TARDIS is exactly what one self makes of it. And i love yours so far.

Could as you say need some more space but it still looks brilliant indeed.

I think its great work and it has the classic DW feel to it.

Love it Oh yes !
